Paraxut — Restaurant in Guimarães

The restaurant, located in Guimaraes Old Town, was built with old Guimaraes town wall, which has beautiful stone and natural color beauty. Inside restaurant, diners can find two contemporary paintings which are on the wall, and these paintings were one line drafted from the beginning to the end for painting image. The restaurant design does give me, probably all other customers, a strong feeling of harmonious integration of historical castle structure with contemporary art and table and seating.

The restaurant indoor seating generally provides a cozy feeling with comforts, while its simple and plain outdoor seating does allow tourists and locals to enjoy meals and, especially, drinks and cafes when weather is acceptable

While restaurant menu has fish, pork, steak entries, it also has other choices, such as vegetarian dishes, plus cafes, cakes, bakery and wine at reasonable price.

Our dish is Grilled Sardine with smashed potatoes, and another dish is seabass fillet with turnip green and crushed potato, with house white wine [less acid, $4.5 per cup]. They are tasty and properly cooked, and price is reasonable and inexpensive, while owner and waitress do give us pleasure and comfort to enjoy the meals without bothering us, although they did make sure that we would not want to have after-meal coffee or other pastry or sweets. Contrary to one prior comment on Google Map, we had no trouble to pay our bills with credit card.

While we were there, Restaurant owners were celebrating with workers for lunch and wines, day after Labor Day. Their entries were really exciting one- prawn, steak, pizza, salad, and other entries, and wines for the employees to celebrate...

I am a Portuguese citizen and this place was by far the worst place to eat at. Speak English? They WILL rip you off. First of all, they told us it would only take 30 minutes yet we waited 2 hours. We all got separate plates of food for a “daily special” they had yet they sent out platters of food that definitely did not fulfill the food requirement. Some of my family Members didn’t even eat. Then to top it off my uncle went to complain and the owner has the audacity to say we were wrong. All disrespect no one should...

The food was not the best. We got sardines, caldo verde soup, a beef steak and pork filets. The sardines were ok, the steak was very undercooked and the pork was chewy. The beer came in glasses the size of champagne flutes. Wouldn't recommend.

The gentleman who welcomed us was very cordial, but the staff were a bit forgetful when it came to cleaning the table and when asked...
