Edit after owners response: I have uploaded a photo of your establishment where it has not one, but TWO signs saying no dogs. Maybe consider fixing your signage if dogs are allowed.
Edit after response # 2: do you realize that people can go to a place more than once??? I have been past your cafe multiple times. Twice when it was open, twice when it was closed. You claimed you don't have a sign that says no dogs, so I walked back and took a photo to show you do. You are lying. There is no such thing as a "no dogs when closed to stop them peeing" law. That sign means no dogs. It even says INSIDE.
So, if another customer walks by your café when it is closed, and sees that sign that says no dogs allowed inside, what then?? You're calling them a liar? This establishment is an embarrassment to the Portuguese people. All you do is lie and fight with customers who had bad experiences instead of fixing the problem. Shame on you. I do not care about your "testimonials" from other people you have made up to pad your reviews. It is obvious you have many fake 5 star reviews here written by sockpuppet accounts. Double shame on you.
And then you go and report me for fake review when I was literally at your café!!! I should report your business for all the sockpuppet reviews. I never said I bought anything. I said I came to your cafe and it does not seem pet friendly. That is not a lie or fake as that is what the sign on your own shop says. It doesn't matter if when I saw the sign you were not open. That is irrelevant. You have a sign that says no dogs allowed inside. How can I post a photo if I was never there????
Take down the sign if it's not true. Simple.
Prior to your 2nd tantrum, I was considering coming back to actually try your food and drinks and see if I could really bring my dog like you claim here and give a better review. Now I definitely will not and I will tell everyone I know not to go either. Bad shameful ownership.
I cannot rescind my review sadly as the location is correct and current. If I revisit sometimes and the no dogs allowed signs are gone, I will try your cafe and give an updated review. Until then, I have to stand by my review as it is true to my experience.
Original review:
Not pet-friendly.
Made it impossible to enjoy a drink here as I was walking my dog as they are not allowed inside and no seating outside. Won't return. But if you're a digital nomads wanting to camp all day long, apparently that is fine. 🙄 Prioritizing rich tourists over...
Read moreFive star experience! We walked past this place so many times and never went in until today. If you like bananas, then this is a must! The banana frapuccino is a real taste sensation. What a lovely place with such caring owners. We were welcomed by the lady of the house who said they were Italian. I purposely ordered items from the menu that remind me of Italia. I was not disappointed with the rich tomato taste of the lasagne with a beautiful red wine. I finished off with an old favourite of mine, affogato. Wow, this must be the best I've tasted, right here in Portugal! I was transported back to my time in Italy with the taste and smell of home cooking just like Mama. This restaurant is an amazing fusion of Italian and Portuguese cuisine and well worth a detour. My children said that this was the best crepe they've had the entire holiday and trust me, they have had plenty of them. I'm sad that I didn't get to try the tiramisu this time, but I will be back! The affogato was too tempting and I have no regrets. We only had one complaint while we were there and this was dealt with swiftly and without...
Read moreBad experience. Ordered one pasteis de nata, then he put two in the bag, then we were charged 6 euros for two tarts and it was awkward to ask them to put one back… so this was one of the biggest ripoffs we experienced on our entire trip
EDIT: left my original review text exactly as it was for the purpose of transparency. The reason for the 3/5 stars rating was about the price of 3 euros for one pasteis de nata, that’s where it felt awkward and uncomfortable as I was shocked by the price. It was not about the miscommunication for two tarts instead of one as I was fine with getting two due to food safety and sanitary reasons. Due to the highly unprofessional response of the shop I am adjusting the review from 3/5 to 2/5… you can check my page and see that most places I award 5/5 or 4/5 to and am not an unreasonable person. 3 euros for one tart was by far the most expensive price we saw out of all the many places we visited...
