Hemingways — Restaurant in Lagoa

So the big festival is on. White and Black, It’s 12:30am and packed….. we ask if we can order food, no their kitchen is shut… insanity, then we get pizzas next door and bring them over, literally is next door, because no one else is doing food around there so I can feed my 9 year old so it’s not like a party group or anything and anyway the owner appears while we are sitting and goes on and on and gives me a hard time in front of my daughter just because my 9 year old daughter starts to eat pizza from the box… keep in mind we also were customers of theirs too and had already ordered multiple drinks so we were not dead beats just abusing his seating… I felt the service was utterly terrible and giving my 9 year daughter, the mother and myself, as a customer, a hard time because we bought food next door because they had nothing was just being over the top and not needed. If that’s how they treat...

Went here a few times during a recent trip to Carvoeiro. Its a nice bar, Nice bar on one of Carvoeiro's busier streets. Good atmosphere, and decent enough prices, although it's more expensive now than it was last year. Although yhere is seating inside, everyone prefers to site outside to soak up the local atmosphere. Great service, with drinks dropped directly to your table. Very generous glasses of wine, especially when compared to some of the nearby local restaurants. No food served after 6pm, but I only went for a few drinks, so that wasn't an issue. Definitely...

After today’s prolonged “palava” after my 2nd visit to the GNR (location Dutch Mike said did not exist) I decided to watch the end of the Lions Rugby match and have a BLT sandwich w/ a beer at Hemingways -

Wow! That was the best bacon lettuce & tomato sandwich I have had in ages and coupled with a Super Bock, it was what I needed to clear my head out.

Sam was lovely and I know she loves to serve her customers only the best. I’m sure you know it, but it’s a great place for a good quick bite. Thank you Sam for helping me ease the day...
