We had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Lighthouse Bar and Grill last night as a family of five (2 adults and 3 teens), and it was hands down one of the best meals we've ever had together. The location is stunning, perched perfectly to enjoy the beauty of Carvoeiro, with a relaxed and welcoming ambiance that immediately puts you at ease.
From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional – warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. As someone with a child who has a severe nut allergy, I can't emphasize enough how impressed and reassured we were by the staff’s thorough attention to detail and safety. Their knowledge and care were unmatched, making the entire experience not just enjoyable but deeply comforting.
Now, the food – absolutely phenomenal. My Portuguese-style sirloin was exquisite, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. But the real debate at our table was whose dish was best, because every single one of us insisted we had the winner! From fresh seafood to beautifully crafted mains, everything was top-notch.
This is a place that blends incredible food, a gorgeous setting, and genuine hospitality into a truly memorable experience. If you're in Carvoeiro, do not miss it – The Lighthouse Bar and Grill is a...
Read moreThis restaurant seems to be quite popular and busy but it's worth making a reservation to dine here. The rooftop views of the sunset were incredible. It was very spacious and good for kids to take a break so the adults can finish their drinks if needed. The food was also quite good. The paté that came with with the couvert was quite tasty. We had the Portuguese steak which was okay compared to others we've had during the trip due to the the gravy. The cod and shrimp dish was flavourful. The kids had fish fingers but they didn't finish then. We tried them but they were quite fishy and dense. That was the only downside of the meal but it was late near the dinner service and they were full. We had the sparkling wine sangria which was so good. The chocolate cake was divine as well as the Banoffee pie I believe is what they called it.
The waiters were very friendly and attentive. We weren't rushed but they checked in at a pace that we liked. Overall it was a nice experience. If we make it back to this region we'd come back, perhaps a bit earlier for aperitif just before sunset. Thank...
Read moreWe visited the Lighthouse on a Saturday evening for a meal for two and some drinks. I don’t usually write reviews but the evening went above and beyond what we expected and really topped off the week. We had paella for two, it looked and tasted great, the best I’ve had in a long time. For dessert we had the creme brûlée, again was amazing. Drinks, plenty of options and served quick, as and when you wanted them. Service was second to none from start to finish, anything you needed and good craic too. The venue I’m sure can be seen from other photos/reviews we looked at before going and is fantastic. Also the views were great and relaxed for viewing of the sunset. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted, it was chilled with some live music (saxophone) that really topped it all off.
Thank you for having us we will be sure to return if we’re ever back in the area...
