We asked for a "Cataplana with fish" because of the good reviews and they served Cataplana with fish and pieces of different chorizo (!!!!!). At first we thought it was a local recipe, so I tried to avoid the meat (I don't eat meat) but the taste of the fish and the smell was really awful and I felt disgusted (my companion also but after eating more then me since at least he doesn't avoid meat), and we were left wondering if the sausage was put to cover up. However, the service was good and they offer another fish for me since I don't eat meat. I have to say that she come back to check if we hadn't eaten too much Cataplana already after ordering the replacement fish. This one was much better although the sauce was a but rich for my taste. This is personal, but I think that good fish doesn't need so much to taste delicious. When it is bad, then yes, maybe you need to add a rich sauce (even chorizo !!). I couldn't sleep well at night because of stomachache and my stomach is still complaining. I think it is really insane to play with the health of people just to save...

We had high hopes for this restaurant because of all the great reviews, however our dining experience here was totally disappointing. The service was the worst I have ever experienced, every time we needed something we had to get up and ask ourselves, for a menu, for our next course. It took one hour for our food to come (and this was only after I asked where it was, they had clearly forgotten) and then we were brought the seafood rice rather than the Cataplana we ordered, by this time it was 10.30pm so we didn’t argue. The rice was nice enough but there was the crabs body with all the insides still in there in the rice, so not much crab was edible - just lots of clams and a small amount of prawns and mussels. I understand that on the weekend they get busy and this is a difficult time for restaurants but our experience was so disappointing that I do have to be honest about it. They could do with hiring more wait staff or only seating an amount of tables they can realistically give...

This is local place that came highly recommended by our Airbnb host. We decided to give it a try even though when approaching it first to ask for space we were met with rude and unfriendly customer service. We booked a reservation for dinner for two adults and two children. The place makes you feel completely unwelcome and like you are bothering staff with your orders. The oysters we got were excellent, the swordfish and tuna were over salted and flavourless. Their cataplana dish my husband got was excellent, but it was the only well executed dish out of four mains we ordered. The server missed my order for Tuna and tried to argue we ordered too much food rather than apologizing for a mistake. Was one of the most disappointing dinner experiences, would...

This restaurant is wonderful. Lots of locals eat here. While we were there a table of 19 and another of 13 local family members came in to eat, so we know we were in the right place for great meals. We had the caprese and house salad too start. Followed by the signature Portuguese Cataplana. Absolutely wonderful, very flavorful and cooked to perfection. We had coffee and homemade Tiramisu for dessert. The staff were friendly and helpful with the ordering. Over all a great evening and a sensational meal. We sat outside at the back of the restaurant, lovely setting. Gluten Free options available. Located just outside Old Town, but well worth the walk. I can highly recommend this restaurant. Obrigado Prato Cheio.
