Read moreThis place is the best cake shop in all of Lagos! The owner is so welcoming and has lots of experience (look at the wall of famous people she’s catered for). Her partner is also friendly. It seems to be ran by just the two of them. Since it’s such a small space, the cake flavors are rotated daily. The availability also depends on what’s in season. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they provide free glasses for water (with a purchase, of course). I had the red velvet cake which was fluffy, moist, and not too sweet. The very berry smoothie is made with fresh ingredients and was filling (not like the watery puree that other cafes offer). Everything about Sweet Home is exactly as you would imagine the perfect afternoon tea to be, whether you want to come by to try some banana bread, wide selection of panini's, or simply for a coffee and a chat with the lovely owner Marzena. This is the place to go!
During our relatively short stay in Lagos we got to know Marzena rather quickly during our morning coffee and snack and I can fully say that nothing beats waking up in the morning and waiting to have a catch up in her homely cafe.
