The service was soo bad!! VERY Very rude waiter. We came as a family of 12!! I am married to a portugues for 30 years plus and have visited lisbon many times. I have never ever had an experience in a restaurant who gave us the worst service ever!! I had to in the end speak to the manager !! Our waiter was soo intimidating and had such anger for no reason. We spent 270 euro in our bill!! The food was soo salty!! This is not traditional portugues food . Its more a barbecue. Meat/fish with lots of salt!!! If not for my mother inlaw I would have walked out!! Its a very busy place and I am sure it's people/guest from the Marriott Hotel!!! The hotel should NOT recommend people here!!! The owner need to take ownership and put some service back and not just see the money coming in!!! Its an open kitchen and our waiter was cutting my niece pineapple straight from touching red meat without washing his hand..he just wiped it in a tea towel!!! I absolutely recommend to avoid this restaurant. Their hygiene is much to be desired for overpriced cost of the salty...
Read moreThis place was recommended by locals, so decided to give it a try, the place seems like a very local diner, no foreigners, menu seems quite wide, yet some items aren't available, the actual menu was like two papers (both sided), no images, inside a plastic sleeve. Mostly selling Meat and Fish. Overall is a place to grab a bite but not to go for a date... meat seems fresh and gets busy, so they sell it constantly. Olives marinated with garlic and bread is seen on each table, before anyone even sits there.(vacant ones) Olives will be charged on your bill ( I assume only if you eat them ) Staff do try yo be polite, yet seem rather disinterested. Octopus Salad starter was nice. Steak is served with white rice and French fries by default. 10% of the steak were fatty parts or tendon that couldn't be eaten, yet meat was tender, tasty, garlicky. Few desserts available but looked good, yet didn't try any. Prices...
Read moreI had only one night in Lisbon and so wanted to try a local place as opposed to hotel food. It’s a short walk from the Marriott hotel and so, easy to get to. I enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant and of the surrounding area. I was first in at 7pm but the restaurant quickly filled up with diners. The menu is in Portuguese with English translations.
The food was excellent with plenty of choice for both fish and meat lovers. I ended up with the special “Posta Fresca de Carne” but I opted out of having rice..the olive oil with garlic and green pepper was outstanding.
The staff were efficient and attentive, even after the restaurant filled up with other diners.
Would definitely got back if I...
