Today was Eid - a day I usually spend with family and/or friends, but I found myself alone in Lisbon because I'm just here to study. I found this restaurant online and checked it out, and even though I arrived kind of late, the staff welcomed me in. They gave me an English menu and were very gentle and kind. I called my family to wish them Eid Mubarak (Happy Eid), and I didn't feel any hostility for being on the phone at dinner. Even though they were nearly at closing time, they told me not to rush and to just enjoy my food. And when I finished eating, they still asked me if I wanted anything else (even though they were technically closed). The presentation of the food was excellent and the decor was a mix of modern, elegant and nature. Lovely brown and green colours and calm background music. Easily the best meal of our trip - from the welcome to dessert we were absolutely spoiled! The food was simple, but so well prepared that the flavors simply burst in the mouth. My husband had the menu of the day - pork, sausage, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes bathed in some sort of silky sauce. Dear lord, even the fat off the pork was tasty and unctuous! I had entrecôte with a mushroom cream sauce, and I soaked every drop up with the perfectly crispy yet tender fries. For dessert my husband had the passion fruit cheesecake and I had something delicious in a glass with dulce de leche at the bottom, chocolate mousse in the middle, and chantilly on top.
