WORST ACCOMODATION EVER
No matter if you are looking for short term or medium term stay, NEVER COME HERE! I stayed in the apartment for nearly a month and I have never had such a bad experience with accomodation:
The noise coming from the inside and outside of the building is impossible to handle. The apartment is located next to the airport and you can hear a plane coming every 5 minutes. It’s so close to the apartment that it feels like the plane will land on the building one day. Its logical that such issue may arise because of the location of the apartment but it is stated that the apartment is sound proof. Even if you close the windows the situation doesn’t change. So the apartment states to provide a service which you don’t receive. Moreover, the building itself is very noisy. It was normal for me to wake up at 5 am just because my neighbour had an alarm clock. Basically you can hear everything your neighbours are doing, you can hear them speaking, arguing, having their alarms + with the noise of the planes from the outside, it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP. I don’t know how the owners of the buildings feel like this is a soundproof apartment. When I first came to the apartment I saw that the bed duvet was covered in stains as you can see in the photo. I requested to change it at the reception (and I stated specifically ‘the bed linen is fine but the duvet it dirty, so please change it’). When I came back, the bed lined was changed but the DIRTY DUVET was still there 🤦 Moreover, when I first came to the apartment, I was supposed to meet staff member in order to pay and get all the entrance codes (for some reason their online payment didn’t work but it was fine with me, I agreed to meet a worker to complete the payment). The staff was 30 mins late, nobody even gave me the code from the main door, so I could at least wait inside of the building. I came in time and eventually I had to wait for half an hour with 2 big bags at 30 degree sun outside of the building where it’s even impossible to sit. When the lady arrived, she didn’t even say sorry, she acted as if it was a normal deal. The LOCATION is really BAD. It’s very far from the city center. You need to walk for an hour to get to the main attractions or if you need to use a metro next to accomodation, you either go over a train rails for 15 mins to reach one station which is super unpleasant or walk for 20 mins next to a motorway where you can be hit by a car any minute. So either way it’s an awful scenario. Daily cleaning is included in the price. Nevertheless, i never got a normal cleaning. During a month when I stayed there, my shower wasn’t washed once, same with the floors, etc. If you are lucky, cleaners will make your bed, change towels and throw the bin. But apart from this NOTHING is cleaned. Moreover, once when I requested a cleaning, I came back and only bin was changed! Everything else remained the same. You can see in the picture how the bed was ‘cleaned’ this day. And that’s considering that in general I wasn’t requesting the daily cleaning which I paid for, I was requesting it only once in 4 days. When I complained about some of these problems, the property didn’t even try apologising or sorting them out. They lied to my face that it’s the first time they hear these complains (but you can read numerous of them on booking etc) and said they wouldn’t do anything about it. They clearly don’t care about their clients or making the stay pleasant.
Overall, I have many more bad things I can say about accomodation because my stay was VERY NEGATIVE. Please, use any other option (like airbnb, etc) you can to find your stay in Lisbon. That’s a great city but my whole experience was ruined because of this...
Read moreCrooks. I recently found out I have advanced cancer and, due to the seriousness of the diagnosis, discovered I needed to get several documents notarized and mailed back to the US ASAP prior to my exams and biopsy next week. The earliest appointment available was in conflict but the embassy had an email where you could request an emergency notorial. I had just found out I was granted an appointment the next morning but couldn't find transportation that would get me there in time the morning of, so started looking for hotels near the Embassy for the night before. As I hadn't even started to review the bus/train schedules for that evening, I WOULD NOT have booked if I had realized there was a no cancelation policy. I had JUST booked when a friend, who I thought was unavailable, messaged me to say she'd just heard of my dilema and could take me to Lisbon in the morning. So 5-10 minutes after making the reservation my Portuguese friend was on the phone with the hotel and was told they had no choice but to follow Booking.com's policy as they had the no control. We finally found the appropriate spot to message them and they messaged us back saying THE HOTEL WAS REFUSING TO CANCEL OR REFUND. My Portuguese friend called again and spoke to two people and told them what Booking.com had said and was told she "misunderstood" the previous staffer as they had a no cancelation policy too. I then called and asked for their online customer complaint book and was told it was clearly on the website but when I asked where Mark was rude and defensive and just kept saying "at the bottom." I started reading out what was at the bottom and he sarcastically said, "Maybe you should change the language to English - which I did - and NOTHING WAS THERE. Fortunately, my Portuguese friend knows who to contact so we're reporting this to the proper...
Read moreThe stay at the apartment was comfortable and enjoyable. Firstly, the apartment has everything a person needs when traveling - an equipped kitchen (stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishes, dishwashing liquid), hot water from a boiler, Wi-Fi, iron, dryer, comfortable bed, armchair, dining table, bedside tables, wardrobe. The apartment was clean and housekeeping was good throughout the stay. The only thing missing was a washing machine, but there are self-service laundries within walking distance.Of course you will hear the sounds of airplanes, but this is Lisbon! The airport is located in the middle of the city, planes can be heard almost everywhere! You quickly get used to them and for us this was not a problem at all.We didn’t hear our neighbors, but the walls felt quite thin, so if you’re unlucky with people nearby, it could be uncomfortable (just like in life)It takes 13-15 minutes to walk to the metro, there are bus stops nearby. An important point is that registration is contactless; you need to receive a code from the front door, or make a call in order for the front door to be opened for you. The code for the front door is sent in advance, but when booking on trip.com they will not send it to you (!). Therefore, especially if you arrive at a non-standard time, take care of the code in advance - write to the apartment, or ensure that you can call a Portuguese number. After entering the hall, you need to go to the registration machine and register + pay the tourist tax (by card). Also make sure in advance that you have the option of paying by card. The apartments are very nice, clean, comfortable and we would happily stay...
