Even though the kitchen knew exactly which dishes we were having before we even entered the restaurant, it took a long time for our food to arrive (from entree to dessert it took 3 hours +). Then, when it did arrive, the entrees were tiny portions of wilted salad and a handful of small mushrooms with a lukewarm sauce. The main dish was also lukewarm and contained a type of farofa that was on the verge of inedible because it had small pieces that were hard as stones. Meanwhile, my friend ordered a juice and got a different one. After pointing out the mistake, the juice was replaced by another but not until about 20 minutes had passed. Also one of our wines took half an hour to arrive. On a different note, when we were offered the juices, we were not told that they were not included in the (expensive) price we were to pay for dinner (35 euros per person), only after the juices had arrived. There was a concert that was pretty good but the air in the restaurant was soooo stuffy we felt like we couldn't breathe so we had to go outside and miss part of the concert. Also, the sound quality was not very good, with the microphone way too loud and sometimes giving feedback. All in all, good musicians, more or less friendly and slow service, very mediocre food, bad air quality....
Read moreI hesitate to give this place a bad review because it's in my neighborhood and I really love food from different lusophone cuisines (I myself am from one of the former colonies). We ordered the goan prawn and fish curry and the angolan moamba. We ended up with a moamba that was just 4 pieces of bone with very little meat on them that we couldn't really eat (there was more bone than meat). And instead of the goan dish, they gave us a brazilian prawn and fish moqueca which we only found out after starting to eat it and being confused by the flavors. We looked at photos online to figure out what dish it was because it had pineapple and parsley which aren't ingredients in goan cuisine. I guess the chef confused the two curries. Both dishes also had very little sauce/curry on the plates compared to the photos we saw. The only things we enjoyed were the bissap juice and the brazilian music playing that evening. I hope the restaurant takes note of this and changes for the future. I was hoping to make this a regular spot in the neighborhood that I could eat at but now I'm not sure if I want to come back. I hope it was just one off day they were having because they were expecting a big birthday party...
