It wasn't a good experience. I ordered take-away from their website and booked it for 07:15pm, which was the first slot. The website told that close to the time I would receive an email saying if they would be able to fulfill that order for that timeslot. By 7pm I received that email and everything was good. I arrived to the store at 07:20pm and I was told by the manager in a not very apologetic way that the order would only be completed by 07:45pm. I was surprised by this news and it looked like he didn't care and I would just had to wait. He told me he could not call and warn me because the phone didn't work. I did indeed leave a foreign number, but I was careful enough to include the indicative, just in case, i.e. the phone number worked perfectly: He just didn't want to call it or doesn't even know how to call a foreign number. I also left my email address that he decided to ignore for some reason, even though at 7pm I received an email from them saying the order was confirmed for that time... why confirm it them? Of course I showed my disappointment, because I was in quite a hurry and I needed the food for 07h15pm. Their response? Shoving the ATM terminal to my hands in order to pay asap. Fortunately one of the sushi masters understood my situation and prioritized the tray from another order, which made things fast. Thank you, random stranger. Regarding the food, I can only say it was okayish. I ordered the Chef's combinations and in my perspective the vast majority of it wasn't great. The combination of ingredients simply wasn't very well thought and the quality of the fish wasn't great either, especially the Tuna which tasted quite old. The scallops were decent though. All in all, not a good experience and I won't be...
Read moreThis restaurant is always a good choice when around the area. They open at 7pm. I was there at 7:03pm and Viviane or Vivian, a host suddenly acted like I was there too early. The place needed a couple of minutes to be ready. No problem on my end. I got in and told her that I wanted to order to go. The place had no costumers yet. Viviane told me to go upstairs, to the tables on the other side because the ones I were, were ALL reserved, for 7PM, you bet. When I did so, the back door was wide open and I could not stand the wind. I went back to the down part of the restaurant where I came in from.
After, I asked for a drink while I wait on my to go order. Viviane comes back again just to tell me they sell food not drinks. This was when I went to the app and made my reservation to peacefully order food to go (60€ value) and have a drink.
I really don’t understand what takes a person to say all that, but she needs a costumer service check up. Don’t restaurantes profit more on drinks and deserts? Even if I was just going to drink, is that a Edu rule, you have to have food? Anyhow, Happy...
Read moreHad the dinner tasting menu. With this menu you get some starters and then the sushi. The choice of sushi pieces is at the chef's discretion.
This should not be a problem, but it was. It seems the constitution of the tasting menu is always the same. I went with a big group and we ordered sushi two times. A big, stylish wooden tray came both times, with exactly the same sushi piece types. We ordered a third time and asked the waiter for different pieces, but they told the tasting menu was made of those. So, regarding the tasting menu: be prepared to always get the same if you order multiple times.
Regarding quality, it's fusion type sushi. Very few pieces are simple. They all seem to have sauces, be fried, etc. Too many fried pieces, actually. It's fusion, but a bad one.
I've been at sushi places before where a tasting menu was putting yourself in the chef's hands and getting all kind of unexpected sushi types that tasked amaaazing, even those that seemed weird (sushi with Doritos, for example).
Edo sushi is not one of...
