I rarely have to write negative reviews because I live by reviews for my purchases and experiences, but this is one of the only places near my gate to purchase coffee. I asked for a cream coffee"l from the menu. The last said that it has alcohol and I said Ok. She repeated that it had coffee and asked if I wanted that or the coffee with cream. I said I wanted the cream coffee. She asked, "With alcohol?" I confirmed, then she looked shocked and shrugged her shoulders. I thought to myself, why have it on the menu if you're not expecting people to purchase it. Anyway, I received my order and walked to my gate. As soon as I started to take a sip of my coffee, ii began pouring all down my shirt. I checked the lid and it was barely attached. But not only that, it didn't seem to be the correct sized lid because it didn't "snap" in place at all. With my ruined shirt, I walked back to the cafe and was able to get the same lady's attention. I showed her my shirt and explained that the coffee lid didn't work. She put the lid on and off the cup and, again, shrugged and said she didn't know what was wrong and began handing the cup back to me like. I asked if they could fix it, but she said she couldn't fix it. I asked for a new cup, then she gave it to another worker. This lady did something and it seemed to fix the problem. In the meantime, the other lady handed me a couple of napkins for my ruined shirt. I went to the restroom to wash up, took a sip of my coffee, and guess what? Leaked all over my shirt again. I threw the coffee away, bought a new shirt and got coffee elsewhere. But what I deduced is that maybe coffee lids for to-go cups here are not designed to be secured...? The next place had kids that were obviously not meant to be securely fastened to the cup, so I had to drink it without the lid. I don't have a problem with this if it is explained, and the lid doesn't have a drink opening designed for sipping. But what I did have a problem with was the way the worker handled my situation. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional no matter where you are...
Read moreNear gate 45A in terminal 1 at Lisbon’s airport named for Humberto Delgado, a small Big City Café kiosk carts serves pastries and basic coffee. The big daddy of First Class Café sits just a short distance, two gates away at Gate 43. This First Class Café has two sections: meals and savory snacks with a second section devoted to coffee, tea, and sweet treats. The meal section pays tribute to Portugal’s reputation for codfish preparations. The codfish meal was good, and I paired it with the sup du jour, a not-too-thick vegetable soup. The other options that I passed on include, steak, chicken, salads, and all day long breakfast and egg dishes. The menus have a dark blue background menus with photographs of the dishes are very readable and convincing On the decadent side of the café, I passed on coffee and tea. I was torn between the chocolate cake, heavy on decorated chocolate icing and the tempting Nutella® croissant. I almost went for both but the Nutella® croissant won, proving a good choice at the airport. The café includes a large area of accessible chairs and tables with 4 TVs, with a view of passersby. Amazingly quiet area even in the middle of the people walking by. Just in case you need a beverage, they have a cooler of Pepsi® products Great efficient service. I finally sat in First Class at the airport! Accessible men’s, women’s restrooms in airport with family restroom and changing table. The wheel chair access restroom has hand rails on the sink and moveable hand rails on the toilet with one...
Read moreOn every point lacking. ( Around 3-4pm)
Getting a table is already an enormous task because of the limited tables and people who just sit there for ages.
The wait time for food is quite long, 20 min for 2 hamburgers, and even longer for the pasta. The food is just frozen garbage. If you want better taste, you can go literally anywhere else. The hamburger was as bland as possible, and the fries were the same. It just felt like you ate unfrozen food from 3 days ago.
The service is horrible. I haven't found anyone who spoke English ( in an international department). They order you around for the slightest inconvenience.
The price is way too high for this. I guess the monopoly for this terminal got them skipping on every service/food and just milk money out of travellers. 20 euro for a hamburger with fries and an egg that is just unfrozen is a crime.
Summary: unless you like losing money, just avoid this. In no circumstance do you want to go here. If you want good/decent food, go to the previous terminal or eat before you arrive here. If you want speed, try somewhere else or maybe a snack because you are definitely not getting it here. If you want a good price, then you are already lost...
