I moved into this neighborhood a month ago and stumbled on this place (there is a big sign out front, but you have to go downstairs...which is a bit confusing). The food here is fantastic. I came twice. The first time, I had the grilled shrimp special, which was tasty + coconut rice. I wouldn't get the coconut rice next time. It was a bit pricey and didn't add too much. Plus a Chamuca...which was fantastic.

The chef/owner came by and explained that all of the recipes are from his mother who actually makes most of the sauces by hand.

It was all very fresh, tasty and flavorful.

Next visit I had a chicken curry dish that was also delicious. Will definitely come back.

Also, he has some super spicy red peppers stashed away in the back if you want...

The food is nice, portions are ok, but what struck me was that the guy serves me and my friend 2 chamucas [3.5 euro] saying its a gift from his mom [who also makes food] and then puts it on a bill. Water on a table is a tap water and costs you 2.85 euros. I thought its part of the experience as it is tap water. He did not even mention that whatever is on table will be charged, I would never think paparis would cost 2.5 euros. Lol But for tap water almost 3 euros lol unbelievable 😳

The guy is very friendly and approachable but I would suggest him to be more open to people because I found it offensive the way he served us.

Hope this comment can help some people what to expect.

WATCH OUT FOR HIM! HE WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR THINGS YOU DIDNT ORDER THEN TELL YOU IF ITS ON THE TABLE YOU PAY FOR IT! he also threatened my friend and I when we refused to pay by saying “be careful in lisbon.” food was great and even his service was great until he pulled that move. I have been to lisbon 11 times prior for work and have eaten at other mozambiquen restaurant and no one did this except this man. It’s sad that he left a bad taste on our mouth at the end and even threatened two girls at 9 pm to be careful. really a shame because food and...

Obrigado Rui.

Very good home made type comfort food. The service is very friendly and fast. I do recall the traditional music playing in background which embraced us to their African roots. Loved the paintings with traditional sayings about how friendly and welcoming Mozambique is. The location is top - at city center. Starter: Chamuça; Entrees: sarapatel and fried shrimp - Zambezian style; delicious food

First time eating mozambican food, didn’t disappoint. Tasty samosas for starters and a crab curry for main dish. The curry was creamy and the crab meat so tender. Waiter was very friendly and helpful, explaing the main characteristics of mozambican food and helping us place our order.
