Hermitage Castelo — Hotel in Lisbon

We are a family of four and stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. We enjoyed our stay. The apartment and building are clean and modern with remnants of the classical history. We were provided with body wash/shampoo, lotion, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, towels, bedding, and a lovely bottle of wine. Beds were comfortable and the AC worked well. The views from our apartment were wonderful and we felt well situated to visit Lisbon from the location. There was construction on the roads nearby that shut down any traffic so parking the car was tricky and a bit more time consuming. But there is a great gelato place in the same building so I enjoyed walking to the parking garage. There was a festival during the month of June up the street and we walked there for some great food and festive atmosphere. We did not hear any street or other apartment noises during our stay. It was very quiet on the 3rd floor. Please be aware of the steep flight of stairs that are necessary to climb to get to the elevator. We also werenʻt sure where the entrance door was when we first arrived as the pictures show the fountain and little plaza in the front of the building but the entry door is off to the left side when facing the building. There is a little side street to drop off and pick up on the right side when facing the building and the street fronting the door on the left side of the building doesnʻt have a lot of room to stop and unload or get picked up. All communication was kind, easy, and professional. All recommendations were helpful and great. The luggage hold company they recommended, Luggit, was a fantastic service we utilized after check out. I highly recommend this service and it is very affordable. I would recommend Casa Chafariz...

We stayed in the penthouse apartment for three nights in February. Start with the positives. It has a great location, a very well-appointed interior, plus super responsive, kind and helpful staff. The apartment was cleaned every day and had faultless quality. However, both bedrooms and one bathroom have compromised ceiling heights, which are NOT shown in the property images online (see my images for reference). This isn't very ethical and needs to be shown for future guests. It is a top-floor apartment that is built into the roof space in a loft style. The master bedroom has low ceilings that you need to duck under to get to the bathroom. I am 1.80m tall and had to do this each time. The second bedroom has a bed located under the slanting roof, so a person needs to lie on the bed to get in each night. The bathroom has a low-height entry, but once inside, it is fine. Also to note, there are two big building sites in operation at the front of the property, with any lower floors getting more noise from the works. In the summer, this will be a problem when the windows are open. The other apartments in the complex do not have height issues and would be fantastic to stay in. It really is a cool neighbourhood, with loads of cafes, bars and restaurants close by. This review is for any travellers looking to book the penthouse...

We just spent 5 nights at Casa Chafariz and we loved it. Great location. Spacious 2 bedroom apartment for our family of 5. All of the staff we came into contact with were amazing. The room was in immaculate condition. AC worked great. Windows have wood shutters in case you like it dark in the morning (which we do). We stayed in the top floor apartment, which is a loft style room with very sloped ceilings in the bedrooms. The lower floor apartments do not have these sloped ceilings and if I return I would choose a room with regular ceilings to avoid the risk of bumping my head during a night time bathroom run. (I didn’t hit my head but it was a real possibility with so many angular ceilings in the bedrooms) another item to note is that the elevator starts on the second floor. To reach the elevator you need to climb a steep set of stairs with your luggage. This set up would be concerning for anyone with mobility issues. Finally the city is doing subway construction immediately in front of the hotel. I am very sensitive to noise and I was not disturbed by the construction. I slept very well at night and even slept in most mornings without noise...
