UPDATE seems that whoever is replying cannot take criticism well. & that’s evident from a few other reviews. It’s hilarious and very unprofessional for an establishment!
Pretty chilled out spot on the corner of Green Street. Coffee was lovely and served to me by a very nice gentleman. However, the place is a bit small so can be crowded at times. It’s a shame as the service was pretty poor. Not by the man who served me the coffee, but by a woman who stayed by the coffee machine most of the time. As soon as I walked to the counter she kept looking back and forth and didn’t serve me for quite some time. Not even a greeting. (It wasn’t busy at all - she wasn’t making coffee) In fact, the only time she spoke to me was when I enquired about purchasing coffee beans. First of all, I wasn’t talking to her to buy them. I was talking to the other male who had served me. But the only time she spoke to me was when she chimed into the conversation about the beans. Whilst I understand that she was just sharing her knowledge, it came across as pretty snobby, rude and confusing. Therefore, I put the beans down and decided not to buy it as she put me off. Her customer service was ridiculously lazy and she wasn’t very welcoming. Not a good “upseller” either, as she was supposed to get me to buy the products!...
Read moreI was doing my laundry and needed to make a quick 15 min call, so I thought it would be a great idea to go for a coffee. I was wrong.
I’ve ordered inside and sat outside. When my order arrived, the guy told me that I could not use my computer. I apologised and explained that was exactly the reason I came, and I wouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes there. He was okay with it and explained that they don’t want people to be there all day working and just grab a coffee, which I understand.
I almost didn’t had the chance to get back to my call, when other guy appears (I assume the owner, since I refuse to believe that anyone else would have the audacity to talk to a client that way) being super rude and saying that I could not be there. I told him that his colleague have told me it was ok since it was only for some minutes, he asked me who and ran away inside the store.
I would be more than happy to be transferred for the small place inside to work on computer - that I see some people talking about in the comments - but was not informed about it. Instead, I’ve drank my coffee in high speed and left after 5 minutes to inside the laundry spot, where no one was giving me side looks or being rude to me.
It is not about coffee and people if the people are being kicked out...
Read moreWonderful coffee, and equally delightful vibes and staff!! I was Googling around for the best coffee in Lisbon, and Buna's name came up again and again...so of course I had to give it a shot! And they absolutely live up to all the hype -- they have a fantastic selection of beans from various roasters around the world, and they do a great job preparing the beans in every which way, whether you want espresso, mokka, filter, or pour over. The space is also really cute -- there are just four small tables inside, as well as a tiny counter space along the wall, but there are also a couple tables outside if you come by on a nice day. I love all the stickers everywhere (on the tables, on the walls, on the fridges...); they, plus the music, really add to the kind of punk, super hip / cool, and very laid back ambiance. I love their mission of coffee and people, and I think they do a great job delivering on both -- the coffee was rich and flavorful, and the staff was remarkably friendly and helpful. At my barista's recommendation, I tried their cinnamon bun for a little sweet treat, and it was incredible! Super soft, with a great cinnamon flavor, and not overly sweet.
Absolutely a must-try in Lisbon if you're...
