Second visit edit: you just welcomed me back so kindly. For lunch earlier today, I ate the roast veal on brioche (as before, I asked for sourdough instead). This thing arrives in a bowl with thinly sliced roast, fresh cress greens, a sprinkle of seeds (pumpkin?) for texture, cucumber pickles, and a citrusy Asian sauce with a tender heat and a salt kick (the sous chef gave me a teaspoon of it to try). There’s that fennel seed in there somewhere, perhaps in the roast. It’s all sitting on a juice-soaked slice of the bread. The second visit is the ultimate test for a restaurant you like, isn’t it? — your expectations have grown in your time away and you come back ripe for disappointment. We find that the menu is well-curated and the chef put some thought and magic in all dishes. The coffee was great too. Katerina was attending our table and she was really kind and friendly. We thought that it was our best cafe experience in Lisbon. (On the way to the cafe we saw many pigeons chilling on the electric cables. The cafe's sign is a pigeon head.
