Melting Pot Pub - Classic Pub in Quinta do Lago — Restaurant in Loulé

Excellent location. This restaurant, called Dano's, is new to the Quinta do Lago scene and is situated in a state of the art sports complex, The Campus, ( FC Wolfsburg were using it for warm weather training in the Bundesliga winter break at the time we were there.). The food is excellent and is a good mix of English/ Portuguese food. There are plenty of healthy tasty salads. Steaks were good and expertly cooked. I had braised beef cheeks which came with sweet potato mash and a dark, savoury gravy. The cheeks were tender, gelatinous and oh so very, very good. My mouth is watering again at the memory of it all. Sweets ranged from the healthy fresh fruit salad, to the very dangerous cream filled salted caramel waffle. Judging by the smiles and murmurs of delight coming from all the family each one hit the mark. The lay out of the restaurant with its open kitchen and very high ceiling is very impressive. We were all extremely satisfied with ourselves for eating there and would urge anyone who visits Quinta to go and enjoy...

No serviço de mesa ninguém trouxe menu, há um código QR no placard na esplanada que dá acesso ao menu. Ninguém avisou que o mesmo não estava atualizado. Aceitaram o pedido e quando chegou a conta os preços não coincidiam com o que estava no menu, o funcionário ouviu a queixa enquanto recebia o pagamento e no final disse textualmente “houve alteração de preços e os que viram podem não estar atualizados”. Fui novamente ver o menu, partilho o link no final, e os preços efetivamente estavam diferentes. Uma fever tree não custava 4,50€ mas no menu estava a 3,50€, um tanqueray não era 6,50€ mas era 6,00€. Chamei o mesmo funcionário que ouviu a queixa enquanto recebia o pagamento e ele diz, “agora não há nada a fazer, já pagou, aceitou o pagamento “. Dei-lhe duas hipóteses e pedi para chamar o responsável: ou devolve o dinheiro que cobrou a mais, ou traz outra rodada (claramente não a minha hipótese preferida porque desconfio do que possa acontecer às bebidas após uma reclamação). Diz ele, “eu vou resolver”, enquanto fazia contas de cabeça, ou melhor “já que precisa muito do dinheiro, que lhe faz muita falta, vou devolver o dinheiro do meu bolso, já que lhe faz tanta falta” e acrescenta, “eu estou trabalhar, não quero confusão, vou pagar do meu bolso e vou já tirar isto daqui!” Mas com um ar de poucos amigos enquanto tirava a ementa da esplanada… e depois traz uma ementa de papel com os preços que tinha cobrado mas que não tinha apresentado na mesa e diz “então, mas estes são os preços, estão aqui!!!” Quanto querem apostar que amanhã o mesmo código QR está novamente na...

Don't go. Honestly, don't go. The drinks were bad. Not as in poorly mixed. More like a case of beer that hasn't been opened in 20 years. Stale, like the environment. I don't blame the staff. It's not their fault that the menu reads like a diabetic's delight. It's not their fault that it could be so much better. I hope it becomes so much better. But until then, there's an increasingly better options worth...
