When You have returned from the excursion through the steep alleys of pritty Monachique, You are happy to rest in the Cafe da Vila. The busy traffic in the backround cannot be avoided. We had vegetarian omelette, which was very tasty with cheese, mushrooms, onions and a good portion of garlic. The vegetable soup was ok with additional salt and pepper. Coffee and cakes were brought out almost immediately, but the wrap took 30+ minutes to prepare! We think they just forgot about it at first, and only started making it when we asked. The cakes are good, but not exceptional. The wrap was not good at all, oversalted pork pieces with some chopped lettice wrapped in a raw tortilla. French fries - undercooked. It’s only €1.69 per 250g in the shops! Service by two Belgian sisters running off their feet was good. Only let down by a slow kitchen and an order coming out not quite as ordered. Black pork was very cooked well and not too much fat but was heavily salted with whole crystals throughout the meat. Burger for us next time! Overall it was good and we will go...
