O Parque — Restaurant in Monchique

We stopped for lunch, it wasn't that busy, but covid probably affected that. Specials were a lamb dish with potatoes and a grilled squid. Between 5 people we spent 80 euros and it was worth every cent. Portions were fine and the salmon dish was divine. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the squid was great too. We ordered three sirloin steaks, two rare and one medium, but what we got were three steaks — two very well done and one medium to well — exactly the opposite of what we asked for. The steaks were supposed to come with fried eggs, but the yolks were completely cooked through, more like hard-boiled eggs. The salad on the side wasn’t very fresh either, and the rice was slightly undercooked.

The only thing that saved the meal was the orange roll we had for dessert and the coffees. The staff weren’t the friendliest, but honestly that didn’t make much difference for me.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Pedimos 3 bifes da vazia dois mal passados e 1 médio, vieram 3 bifes da vazia 2 muito bem passados e 1 médio para bem ou seja deram-nos exatamente o contrário do que pedimos, os bifes da vazia eram supostos vir com ovo estrelado mas vieram com a gema totalmente cozida tipo ovo cozido , a salada dos bifes também n era muito fresca sem falar que o arroz estava ligeiramente cru. We found this place online and I have to say that it exceeded my expectations. It doesn't look much in terms of appearance but let me tell you the food is out of this world. It's one of the fee restaurants where the will bring you a taster of the day special course. Prices are now than decent and portions are BIG.
