Pangeia — Restaurant in Nazaré

From the moment we arrived at Pangeia we instinctively knew we would want to come back

This was, end to end, an exemplary dining experience - the very best we’ve had so far in 12 months living here on the wonderful Silver Coast - very fortunately we live only 15 minutes away!

In fact, in over 25 years of enjoying Portugal this is now our #1 favourite … here’s why:

The service from Leonardo and his team was fantastic - not overpowering or intrusive, simply well balanced and perfectly refined.

When the serving staff all celebrate their food offerings you know you are on to something special.

And, when the owner takes time to come round to check on your satisfaction too… even better!

It is this combination of tight teamwork and attention to detail that makes this truly a five star experience.

Our welcome was friendly and memorable. The views over Nazaré from our table were breathtaking.

And now to the food… the taste and the quality fully measure up to the promise of the exquisite presentation.

Our party had the grilled octopus, fish and seafood stew, sautéed prawns and the vegetable lasagna.

Without exception they were all delicious

I had the octopus and it was sublime… I’ve eaten octopus in Santa Luzia in the Algarve and this was more memorable.

I rarely choose a dessert, but couldn’t resist the amazing selection that was presented to us.

At the end we had a great interaction with Leonardo and a memorable farewell … we promised him a 5 Star Review and here it is

Top-notch!

Pangeia is spectacular. It’s situated in a very elegant house looking over Nazaré, the sea and, of course, awesome views of the sunset. The staff is professional and very friendly taking care of customers efficiently without invading their space. The food is very good and consist mainly in fresh, locally sourced fish and seafood. One speciality is the octopus, present in many of their offerings, from carpaccio to pastry and all the variations in between! We had clams that were available that day off-menu, they were fantastic, very tasty in a wine sauce; octopus carpaccio that was a great and very well balanced dish; fresh grilled fish of the day, also magnificent and a fish and seafood stew that was a pure symphony! All very recommendable. I think that visiting Nazaré, Pangeia is the restaurant no to miss. Nevertheless, I would like to make a recommendation to the restaurant’s management: they should do something about having some parking space nearby. Of course, this do nothing to diminish the awesome experience of Pangeia...

Well let me tell you something, this place deserve a 10 star from all of us. Firstly we called and booked a table, we asked for window table as we wanted to watch the sunset during the dinner. As we arrived we were recognized by them and they told us we called late and they can't offer us the desired table but instead they will give us the terrace table which happens to be even better. Their octopus trilogy dish (octopus on 3 different ways) is one of a kind. Great mix of tastes all of them unforgettable. We were greeted by the chef too, a pleasant guy. The waiter was simply magnificent as ge was always around to advice you, share some good words and in the same time not bothering at all. Their white wine was going just perfect with the dish. Allmost all manu is based on octopus. We ended with a bill in a bit more price restaurant then standard in Portugal but all of that was worthy for the last penny.
