Cidade de Frango — Restaurant in Olhão

I was so excited to eat at this local place after walking by this restaurant multiple times during my week long stay in Olhao. When I finally decided to walk in for dinner on a Monday night at 7pm I was told by the nice hostess that I couldn’t have a table for one as they were fully booked. So I asked nicely, ok no problem can I make a reservation for one for tomorrow night. I was then told nicely by her but that the owners policy is to not accomodate a party of one and you can only make reservations for two, ever! I then asked ok what if I come for lunch? And she again nicely said I can’t promise you because what if we have reservations for two people. So I’m leaving this review in hopes the owner sees this, hears my disappointment and when someone who really wants to dine at your establishment comes as a party of one you will let them in. There were many tables open at the time and either you need to update your staff or on behalf on all the solo travellers and diners out there you let us come and eat should you have the pleasure of us wanting to spend our evening and money dining with you....

Lovely dining experience in a ‘typical ‘ understated restaurant - you really feel you are indulging in a different culture unlike some of the more ‘modern ‘ restaurants in the locale The food was wonderful - chicken cooked infront of you on a bbq - very moist and tasty The salad was lovely too - very fresh Our waiter was very attentive and friendly We had the house red wine which was lovely We also had the homemade flan for dessert which we really liked too All in all a lovely dining experience Very reasonably priced too No wonder it is so popular We couldn’t get it in the first night so we reserved for the next night And they allow small well behaved...

We have been in Olhao for holidays for 7 days. We just found the restaurant in the last 3 days. But from that day, we just went here for lunch and dinner. It is a small family restaurant. They are very friendly. Thex have some small menu, but usually it is recommended to try the fish or chicken (As sides: French fries). It is so tasty. And you should try the house wine. Very good. The dessert is tasty, too. We ate with 2 person: Some olives or snacks as starters. Then the maincourse with wine and after a coffe and dessert (Pudding, Fruits, Cake,...).
