Restaurante A Taska — Restaurant in Olhão

The food was pretty good. My husband said his burger was the perfect cross between a Big Mac and a Whopper. I had the tuna, and I did enjoy the sauce that was on it. It was supposed to come with a fried onion, according to the server, but it did not. I didn't miss it. The sandwiches all came with fries that needed to be salted and crispier.

This menu is adequate. The service was slow and probably the least friendly we had in all of Portugal. There did not seem to be a wine list, or at least it was not offered. The server brought me two bottles to choose from before asking if I wanted by the bottle or glass. They didn't have what I wanted by the glass, and he was less than helpful in offering something by the glass. He should have offered to let me try them, but he was very uninitiated.

Be warned that while the interior and menu are modern, this is a CASH ONLY restaurant. It also took nearly 20 minutes to get the check after we were told they did not not take cards. At this point, we just wanted to get out of there. It really wasn't worth wasting our time when we had such a short time in...

Tucked away off of restaurant row and a couple of blocks behind the police station on the west end of the strip, you will find A Toska. There is not a lot of room inside, but they have loads of tables on the square in front of the restaurant when the weather permits, which, in Olhão, is almost anytime ... HOOAH!

Pretty good burgers by Portuguese standards, I had the Bacon Cheeseburger (€9), coming on a fresh sesame seed bun with lettuce, red onion, cheddar cheese and bacon with a small side of steak fries.

The prices are fair, the burgers good, and the service friendly ... a definite TravelValue in my book ... WTFO!

Lovely little spot with indoor and outdoor seating. There's the road between the restaurant and the outdoor seating so if you don't like smoking you are farther removed from it when you sit inside. The pork cheeks were excellently cooked and my partner said his burger was fantastic. Our service was great even though we were outside they were still attentive and the staff went above and beyond to get something for me that was not on the menu. Definitely would go back both for the service...
