Taberna D’Olhão — Restaurant in Olhão

We had a great experience in this restaurant tonight. The menu was in Portuguese as it is only recently opened and we only speak English, but our server Kevin was on hand to explain everything to us. We started with Couvert, then breaded chicken goujons and a sweet chilli sauce. Next was beef cheeks which were just amazing and so tender. Our main dish was a sharing meat platter from the grill consisting of beef steak, lamb, pork and sausage and accompanied with fries and salad. We were so full we had to pass on desserts this visit but we will make sure to leave room for dessert next time. We chose to sit inside to escape the heat, but it was clear that the staff's attention was primarily focused on the outdoor tables. It was difficult to get their attention at times, and after asking for more wine, no one followed up. While a few elements of the meal were enjoyable, overall the food was underwhelming. Very nice and cozy place, the food is tasty and the staff is really nice. The only thing that bothers me is the music that's always playing, this is a bit irrelevant but still. The playlist consists of poorly sung covers of popular songs and it is slowly driving me crazy as to how bad they are.
