Luis (son) and his mother Carmina run this quaint restaurant in Fatima. Believe the reviews, he is such a welcoming host and super attentive (but not pushy). Started off with a tomato salad on the house- excellent light salad. Ordered the grilled octopus for two ( large portions). Octopus was grilled to perfection- lightly salted and firm not chewy. Served with home grown green beans, sweet and regular potatoes and a reasonably priced local red wine. Best meal in Portugal thus far and as an Italian raised on momma’s cooking- this place is the real deal. After learning Luis and his father raise bees he gave us a jar of honey from his bees (no cost) and after learning that they grow their own tangerines and apples, he served us some of them again at no cost. Best spot I have eaten in the week I have been in Europe! This family owned spot has a great, sophisticated atmosphere that provides a great flavor in its food. We ordered the skirt steak and it was one of the best I have eaten anywhere! Food came with lots of sides and it was all very very good! The server was so nice and attentive, and they aim to provide great service and not money. We tried to order two orders of the skirt steak but our waiter let us know to just order 1.5 as the meal is very large and can be shared. Being from the US we were hesitant but it was true and it left all four of us very full!! Their pudding dessert is very very good and comes with lots of fruit and other items. This was hands down the best restaurant I’ve ever visited! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The staff was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.

The food was absolutely delicious—our steak and fish were cooked to perfection. What made it even better was the refills of our side dishes, a generous touch that truly elevated the experience. The restaurant itself was spotless and well-organized, and the cozy, family-style atmosphere made me feel right at home.
