Castelos — Restaurant in Portimão

Our recent foray into Castelos at Praia da Rocha offered a pleasant culinary journey. The highlight was the shrimp cocktail, which was more than decent, showcasing the kitchen's skill in seafood preparation. However, the beverages, although attractively priced, left something to be desired. Their reliance on artificial flavors rather than fresh fruits resulted in a loss of the natural zest one craves in a seaside locale. This was a slight letdown in an otherwise enjoyable outing. We got drinks with sprite and sadly the syrup was low and it all tasted quite watery. In all fairness we did not bother to complain, as we are on vacation, but the syrup soft drink things should be checked regularly.

The view was nice and we hung out there quite a while. Music was okay.

They did not mention the 5 EUR min. amount for card payments, but for Happy Hour they charged immediately. So the clerk was not happy to see us pay below 5 EUR...

Have been treated not correctly during hour hour with cocktails. For our remark that there are other places around, we received the answer « that’s ok ». It seems that they don’t have any economical issues and during this time they have a lot of customers. So please avoid this place as there are are a lot of alternatives around. If they cheat with such a simple thing like happy hour, they might cheat with something else. No respect...
