Very nice decor and ambiente in the restaurant. And very nice fried potatoes. That's the only nice things we can say about this place. The waiter guy was not nice nor polite, not a single thank you or please. Very direct in his speech. As if he was angry all the time. Oh we speak Portuguese btw, it's not even a language barrier issue. He forgot things we asked for, never came back.also he forgot the other table's things too. Never came back. We ordered 2 burgers for us. The worst thing was the burger, supermarket bought frozen. Bread was cold. The meat Wasn't even cooked though. I vomited the part i had eaten while in the restaurant. I left most of the burger on my plate. My boyfriend left the meat out too which was still pink. We just ate the nice potates. Not a great experience tonight. We ordered covert as a starter, so essentially a collection of prepared starters. They eventually arrived after 25 minutes and while we were eating them we were told our main course was ready and would we like it now. We said we'd rather finish our starters but once done we asked for our main course as we didn't really want them being kept 'hot'. After 10 minutes we were then told that our main course was being redone as they had messed up, which frankly I don't believe. Service was poor and haphazard with one poor kid having water spilled over him and I could hear multiple complaints regarding incorrect orders arriving to tables. Food quality was poor given the price. The chicken breast piri piri had the texture of brine washed chicken and the burgers were 'bought in' and of a lessor quality of other Alvor establishments charging less. I won't be back. Not...

Hors d'oeuvres arrive sealed in plastic wrap for freshness. The house wine was quite good. For mains, we ordered the roast lamb and the seafood casserole. If you like sliced roast beef, definitely order the "roast lamb". It is served quite salty. The seafood casserole "Portuguese style" is a bouillon with mixed seafood and boiled potato and is without cheese - more a seafood stew than a casserole. Be careful for the cartilagenous bones - we thought monkfish wasn't supposed to have bones.
