Auge Porto — Restaurant in Porto

Food was on a whole great. However:

Overall, terrible experience with the service. Started poorly with no one greeting us, and it was unclear if we had a table, even though we had reservations. Sat at 8:35, and initially service was attentive and our water glasses were refilled as we put them down. After we decided on cocktails, these came late, after our first course. And then service slowed down. Our finished cocktails were never removed. We were never asked if we wanted another. Our water glasses were emptied and it took ten minutes to get more carbonated water. When it was served, it was served warm.

At one point, without any waitstaff coming by, there was literally 35 minutes between finishing last course and getting the next. When we asked the manager what had happened, his excuse was that the chef dropped one of the courses, twice. Regardless of what happened in the kitchen, it was unacceptable how the waitstaff completely ignored us for the length of time they did.

Unfortunately it may have been an off night as we heard other tables with the same complaint nearby.

In the end the drinks were comped but given that we had only one drink each at the very beginning of the meal it didn’t feel great. Plus start to finish the meal took three hours.

Again, decent food but service was lacking and...

We visited yesterday and were truly blown away by the views, the staff and the food! The view was absolutely stunning and is worth the visit to see porto from high up. The staff were amazing with just the right amount of attentiveness - very professional at all times and very accommodating. One of the staff members is an intern and we could not tell, all the staff seemed very experienced and made the night even more memorable. The food was the absolute highlight of the evening; we found out the chef was the chef at a Michelin starred restaurant prior and we could honestly tell! So well seasoned, extremely tasty and very innovative; this was our first time trying Porto cuisine and we are big fans! To top it off we were presented with a dessert box to end the evening with a bunch of tasty pastries! We definitely recommend this restaurant and will...

Everything was simply spectacular. From the appetizers (tomate cooked in risotto, dried and then made it a wrapper to mozzarella?? Wow!) to the dessert. I was sad I didn’t go for the full tasting menu las I wanted to keep tasting more flavors. Service was excellent.
