My first experience in this cafe was incredible - in a sense that everything was in synergy, from the waiter taking my order, understanding exactly what I would like to eat to the chef taking their time to prepare with a passion for his work, the simple toast with scrambled eggs and mushrooms. Howewer, the second time I went again to have the same toast as late christmas breakfast, I noticed the service was slower but I dont mind waiting for something good, confusingly they first served just the toast with butter, then the toast became cold while waiting for the scrambled eggs and mushrooms so had to explain again that I want the eggs and mushrooms ON the toast. Then eventually they served it but it resembled nothing like what I had previously had, what they served me looked and tasted like it was poured out of a can and mashed together, the mushrooms were not even cooked. I could not even force myself to eat it. I really hate to complain so I just paid and left but I think its useful for you to know anyway. Read moreUm dos cafés tradicionais do Porto moderno, cujo início remonta à década de 70 , agora com nova gerência completamente renovado e rearranjado, tendo subido de nível no que respeita ao público-alvo, e aumentando muito a variedade e qualidade da oferta. Os preços acompanharam a subida de nível, sendo agora mais caro, o que se justifica atendendo ao investimento e ao valor daquilo que oferece. Já não é o pitoresco "café dos reformados" e "dos estudantes", a que nos habituámos nos últimos 30 anos...os tempos mudam, e agora ganhou uma dinâmica nova, mais movimentado, com nova e variada clientela, e espaço atraente, confortável e moderno Envolvente bonita, com praça ajardinada ( ex-praça Velasquez, eterna Praça Velasquez).
