Empanadas Malvón — Restaurant in Porto

We didn't get to try the empanadas, the lady working in the morning (March 24th, 2024) we stopped by was more focused on "Selling" rather than delivering an experience. We totally missed the sign of 3 empanadas and a drink for a specific price; we were buying 4 empanadas and looking forward to more. When we asked the lady about the promo sale, she basically said she couldn't honor it any longer... She didn't even mention the promo sale with the drink prior ringing us up. At this point, the empanadas were in the oven heating up; so I asked her to please re-do the transaction and add 2 more empanadas totalling 6 empanadas and 2 drinks (for the mean time), she literally got really mad, and kept refusing to do so. At that point I got fed up and asked her to just cancel the whole thing (empanadas were not even served yet), and she still kept saying she couldn't void the transaction. Made her call her boss and ended up refunding in cash. I'm sorry, I don't care how tasty the empanadas may look, that attitude and lack of willingness to serve the experience (Not the product) don't get...

Great empanadas! We got the 6 pack which also included two drinks (in the photo we had already devoured two!). The carne picante, Frango Thai, Alheira Picante and the Frango Especial. We did not try any with pork but they have a wide selection available and also have vegetarian and vegan options. All were great but our favorites were the the carne picante and the Frango Thai. I did not find any particularly spicy but we tend to eat much spicier foods. The crust was perfect and each empanada had a good amount of filling unlike many we’ve had before which are less filling and more crust. We ate in. I've eaten a lot of empanadas these last years in four different countries and, even though the staff was very nice as well as the place, the empanadas were the least tasty I ate. It would have been better if it had been less salty and greasy. I was kind of dissapointed by the almost tasteless flavor (except maybe the humita one, but still not the most tasty I had). By the way, they were also the more expensive I've eaten, taking into account the taste and size (and I ate some in two big French cities). I am sure the staff can improve the taste by first of all reducing...
