I am seldom moved to write reviews, but our experience at this place was so phenomenal that I can't help but share the good news. My visit was marked by outstanding service and phenomenal food that stood tall in my dining experiences. The food, let me tell you, was second to none. From the first bite to the last, it was a journey of flavors and textures that would leave any gourmand sated and delighted. Every dish we ordered was meticulously prepared, displaying a high level of culinary expertise and passion. But where the place truly excels, beyond its cuisine, is its service. More specifically, our server, Bravlio. Bravlio is a testament to what it means to be a waiter in a top-notch establishment. He elevated our dining experience from great to unforgettable with his professional demeanor, profound knowledge of the menu, and his uncanny ability to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. His attention to detail, from ensuring our glasses were never empty to his brilliant food recommendations, was nothing short of impressive. It's not every day that you find someone like Bravlio, who not only takes pride in his job but also goes the extra mile to ensure every guest leaves with a smile. We felt valued and well-cared for, which made our evening all the more special. All of this combined to create an atmosphere that was warm, inviting, and filled with positive energy. A big shout-out to Bravlio and the team behind the scenes for truly raising the bar when it comes to dining experiences. We look forward to our next visit! So, if you're looking for an unforgettable meal served with a side of unparalleled service, look no further. This place, with its delightful cuisine and phenomenal staff, particularly Bravlio, will surpass all your expectations. I can guarantee you will leave with your palate satisfied and your heart full. In short, this is not just a place to dine, but an experience to cherish.

We wanted to try a francesinha and had initially made for Cafe Santiago (recommended by a Portuguese friend). However, there was a queue of people even just before 3pm on a Monday in September (not peak tourist season by any means)! Thankfully another friend had also tried there just this summer and didn't want to wait so went across the road to Brasão Coliseu. Lucky she mentioned it to us! We had a nice meal here. This was the only francesinha we tried in Porto. We liked it, but we didn't feel the need to have more. It is incredibly moreish and not at all healthy. Other than the francesinha to share (1 between 3, though there is a half option), which we got 3 fried eggs with separately, we tried each of the rissoles due to seeing them mentioned numerous times in reviews. They come in bright colours, so you can distinguish them from each other and the same sauce. The vegetarian one was ok, but probably least favourite. The meat one with mushrooms and truffle was marginally the favourite between that and the spicy one (does have a kick at the end). We had to order chips separately (other places do the francesinha with fries included). The server recommended we get a fried onion, which looks like a fried flower, comes with a sauce and was okay tasting. We got orange juice and water for drinks. Our total bill came to €50,70. Paid by cash, but credit card should be fine. Had to decide on our order quickly as the kitchen shuts at 3pm and it was less than 10mins after we sat down. They were very pleasant though and didn't make us feel overly rushed. Follow here and on IG for more travel and food and drink tips, ideas and reviews @one.more.step.along.the.world

I guess the 5 star comments are from the people who ordered Francesinha. I can tell from the tables around that their food arrived hot, services were quick, so they sat down later than us but finished earlier than us. There was a queue to get a table for 2 at 8pm on Friday night, it’s reasonable to wait for 25-30 mins. The friendly and smiley staff at the reception was excellent. All staffs were running around, each of them takes order, delivers food, takes the bills, do everything and so busy. The staff taking orders for us didn’t pay full attention as he had to be multitasking that kept an eye on the others. So, we didn’t order Francesinha. The bread was cold and butter was taken straight from the fridge. After 35-40 mins, the soup, the meat mushroom truffle and the beef tartare arrived, as well as a fried onion (which I haven’t ordered and was questioned about it). As another sign this restaurant is too busy and cutting corners and should really only stick to the francesinha, the French fries were obviously old stale and had been reheated. Regardless, the beef tartare and the truffle were really tasty. I understand it’s not a fine dining restaurant but I guess it’s not a fast food place either. I wonder if the kitchen staff were all doing francesinha or if they have a good system to work or they are actually under staff like the floor. At the end, we were given the wrong bill.. no wonder I got the onion that wasn’t ordered. Because of this level of service/operation/waiting time, I wouldn’t recommend and won’t go back.
