I visited this place for the first time with a lot of excitement, but unfortunately, I wonât be coming back đ
After seating myself, I waited for about 15 minutes before anyone came to take my order. I was dining solo and couldnât help but notice that other tables who arrived after me were already being served their drinks. That was disappointing.
Once my order was finally taken, things moved quickly â my drink and meal arrived fast, which I appreciated.
However, the experience didnât really improve from there. I was sitting by the window, and the view was not pleasant â trash bags were left under a tree right outside. I actually saw staff placing them there, so I know they were from the restaurant. Not exactly a great ambiance.
I asked about the mocktail of the day, as listed on the menu, but was told it was actually a smoothie â which wasnât what I was looking for. I wanted a refreshing mocktail, not something heavy and fruity, so I ended up ordering a Zero Cola instead.
The veggie burger was dry and difficult to eat without any sauce â it really needs something to bring it together. The fries were over-fried and barely salted (and thereâs no salt on the tables). They also came without any kind of sauce. Oddly, the menu description made it seem like the burger came with a coleslaw side salad, but the salad was actually inside the burger. Nothing was mentioned about fries, so I wasnât expecting them at all.
The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, but it was incredibly noisy inside. Coasters would also be a nice touch â my cold drink left the table wet.
On the positive side, the staff were friendly, and it was clearly a busy day. It is a brunch spot, so maybe other dishes could offer a better experience â and sitting somewhere facing the interior might also help create a better impression. But based on this first visit, I donât feel like coming back. This is just my subjective opinion and personal experience â others might feel differently.
With so many better options in Porto, I wouldnât recommend this place unless youâre in a rush and donât want to wander around looking for...
Read moreHorrible experience. Waited in line to get in because we had read great reviews, and ordered shortly after we were seated. Thirty minutes later, my meal arrived, but not my companionâsâwhich was just toast with peanut butter. We still hadnât gotten our drinks at this point, but were trying to be considerate and patient because the restaurant was busy. Could not locate our waiter, so I reluctantly approached the counter to ask about our drinks. Following the reminder, only half of our drink order arrived, including the coffee we had noticed sitting on the counter for a full half hour. When my companionâs meal still hadnât arrived ten minutes later, and with my meal getting cold, I flagged down the waiter and let him know. He could not have cared less. Another 20 minutes pass, and still no toastâIâd had my meal for nearly 35 minutes at this point, and my companion still had nothing. We watched as many patrons approached the restaurant, waited in line, were seated, ordered, and received their meals. Stood up and tracked down a staff member for the third time to ask about the toast. Again, no apology about the missing meal and in no hurry to find it. When another ten minutes passed with no meal, no explanation, and no sign of it ever coming, we felt we had no choice but to give up and leave. When I explained the situation to the cashier, he apologized and comped the food we did receive, which I did appreciate, but by that time we had wasted over an hour waiting on a meal of toast, which is absolutely ludicrous. It also disrupted our plans for the day, as we then had to seek out food for my friend who never received her dish. Iâve never experienced such terrible service in my life and am astounded by the complete indifference when repeatedly forgetting about an...
Read moreMy recent visit to Garden Porto was nothing short of exceptional. For a total of 37âŹ, we enjoyed an impressive variety of dishes that showcased the restaurant's commitment to quality and presentation.
Our order included two cups of their coffee of the day, a creamy latte, and a refreshing berry lemonade. For our main courses, we sampled their eggs benedict (perfectly poached with hollandaise sauce that was spot-on), avocado toast (fresh and flavorful), fluffy pancakes, and crispy popcorn shrimp. We finished with a slice of their red velvet cake, which was the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
What stood out most was the freshness of every ingredient. Each dish was artfully presented - clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. The execution was flawless from start to finish.
The value for money was exceptional considering the quality and quantity of food we received. The ambiance complemented the dining experience perfectly.
If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Porto, I can't recommend Garden Porto highly enough. It's earned a solid 10/10 in my book and will definitely be a must-visit on my future trips...
