Awful experience at this restaurant! MY ADVICE: Plenty of other Italian places in the city. Save yourself the trouble and frustration. Pick another place to get your Italian fix.

I don't like to post negative reviews however there were just too many things gone wrong with our experience at this restaurant. We had specifically made the trek to Grigio because folks in our party wanted a break from Portugese/seafood and was craving Italian food, specifically pasta. Only upon trying to place our orders we were informed that no pastas were available for order that evening, only pizzas! i.e. half of their menu was not available for order. I get it if a dish or two is sold out/unavailable but half the menu?? The place wasn't busy so didn't warrant dished being sold out. After some discussion, our waitress said vegetarian lasagna was available. So we chose to stay as we were hungry, had taken time to walk to Grigio and didn't want to look for another place.

The vegetarian lasagna we were served was just plastered in melted cheese, to the point that even children said it was too much cheese for them and left it unfinished. We had also ordered several pizzas, one of which was the Funghi with wild mushrooms and truffle oil. Not a whiff of truffle on the pizza and nothing wild in the mushrooms either. I normally like and always order thin crust, however these were paper thin and simply mediocre toppings. We ordered water and was charged €2/person for a small bottle each. Our (non-water) drinks didn't come until after our meals arrived which was is the first time I've ever experienced drink orders arriving later than food. Adding further insult to injury, when we asked for our bill, we were told they could only take cash payments as their machines weren't working that evening!?! They informed us there's an ATM across the street if we needed. Our experience at this restaurant was the absolute low point of...

Nice vibes…but beware.

I have dined at Grigio during the multiple times I have visited Porto. I typically order the same thing and it usually ranges from decent to very good.

However, I forgot that they are tricky. Upon being seated, they will bring a small basket of bread (three half slices of toast and a couple oversized thin crackers). They call this “Couvert”.

They will stand there with the bread and say something like “I have some bread for you” or “Would you like some bread?” They do not mention the charge of €3.50, but it is on the menu to order.

But typically, you have yet to look at the menu to see it on there by the time it is presented to you.

So who knows how many people have been fooled by this. Instead of letting people order a starter if they want, they are brought this bread by default.

During my most recent visit, I noticed a couple who picked up a tip left on their table because they were unaware of the charge when they got their final bill.

I will most likely never dine there again. But let this be a warning to those visiting Porto who decide to dine there. The pizza is good, but there is better in the area. My review is heavily weighted towards a 3 due to how they conduct...

It looks like a high end Italien Restaurant once you enter the restaurant. The price is quiet high for what we experienced in Porto but we thought it was worth it since of the looks. Sadly the looks were so wrong! From 4 waiters only one could decently communicate in English with the rest left in more of a question trance after asking them anything. The wines were good but it is wines from Portugal which are good so hard to screw something up there. BUT coming to the worst part of the dinner experience! The pizza ... I mean how??? 12€ for a pizza that has toppings not even worth of a 5€ pizza; just horrible. The one star is okay since the wood stove and what it makes out of the pizza dough is quiet delicious but everything that goes on top of it isn't worth of something like that. I will stick to the weird and wicked places in Porto because they resemble the Porto culture with it's delicious foods but not this wanna be high end Italien Restaurant that just fails on everything except wine and pizza dough and that is just sad for the price and expectations we had!

1 out of 5 basil leaves (btw we were told they ran out of basil leaves .... unacceptable in an Italien...

The service was overall bad, clearly someone without any experience being a waiter, not warm or welcoming at all, we were literally the only 2 people there for a good 30/40m, so its not because he was busy, we were the only table and i still felt like the waiter just didn’t care. Asking us about if we want to keep our forks/knifes after we just ate entries, we don’t know whats the procedure, they were clearly dirty and full of cheese, he just got them out of our plate and put them in the table, leaving the table dirty, i was lucky i ordered pizza as a main so i just ate with my hands and didn’t have to touch those again. The pizza 4 formaggi was actually very good and pretty light . The mushrooms i ate as entry weren’t that good tho, not much flavor on the filings and the meat. The atmosphere was ok, the deco its nice, but no music playing or whatever, we were alone and all you heard was the servers loudly complaining about something next to the counter or just making jokes and laughing like they were alone at the place.

This place is worth going to id say! My partner and I are staying in an AirBnb and our host gave us food recommendations from a locals perspective. Pizza Club Grigio was on the list so we went to give it a try! We ordered a drink (Aperol Spritz), garlic bread, a margarita pizza, a salmon pizza, and tiramisu for dessert. I enjoyed the garlic bread the most. It was prepared in a way that I have NEVER had before but I loved it! It was crispy and the rosemary was delicious on it (pictured). The margarita pizza was alright not gonna lie but I would just order a different pizza next time or try the soup and pasta. We went a bit "early" compared to everyone else so it wasn't too busy. We had a seat where we could see them preparing our food which was nice. If you are in a rush to eat, I would advise to not go here. It seems to be a place to take your time and be present with the people you dine with. Overall, I would come again and would recommend this place! -LJ (U.S.A)

Absolutely NO-GO unless you are interested in overpriced tiny portions and a pilgrimage to the nearest ATM if you do not have cash in your wallet. A really thin pizza costs 15 € but card payment will not be accepted. If you ask the waiter how is this possible in a "fancy" restaurant in 2022, suddenly he can not speak English anymore and answers to you that today they have a technical problem with the POS terminal. Then you take a walk to an ATM and when you return, you notice a small sticker close to the entrance. Maybe someone lied to you and there is no technical problem, but rather a no-card policy resulting from the greed of the owner?
