Had a relatively okay-ish experience at the hotel.
It's a 5-star hotel, but from observation, they don't seem to really focus on the smaller details.
Elevator is incredibly slow. There's no indicator whether it's coming, and from which floor. It closes slowly, it comes slowly, it moves up and down slowly. We put so much time waiting for the elevator and being in the elevator.
Breakfast was fine, had a variety of options. But all days we were there for breakfast, the jamon was very brown and tasted very funky. I've been to hotels where the meat is very fresh, no matter what - so I'm not sure what the issue was here. Perhaps they don't switch out their jamon every couple of hours? Coffee machine was right behind the buffet and right next to some people's tables, so it was more often than not that people were forming lines to get coffee, next to the buffet station and people's tables.
Room was fine, but there was a very weird odor coming in from the shower. When I asked about it, I was told that it was very normal. It's not normal at all. Would've appreciated some more concern here, but I do understand that perhaps it's a building-wide pipe problem. Also after the first 2 mornings, they kept forgetting to leave a bottle of water in the room.
Sauna area was nice, but it could get very, very loud and crowded very quickly. It's nice that they ask for booking reservations, but even so, there were a lot of people there at a time. There are benches to relax, but not truly, as they're not like the sunbeds where you can stretch your legs and just really soak in the calmness after being in the sauna/pool. The pool was nice, as there was a whirlpool.
Other than that, service was fine, the front desk was friendly, and the location was the best part of the hotel. Super central to everything, and in a very walkable area....

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with respective services you have to avoid this Hotel. No staff at the main entrance to welcome you and offering help with the luggage. After check in we were not offered to be escorted to the room to explain the amenities in the room which is standard at a 5 star Hotel especially if you stay for the first time. There is NO coffee maker in the room. (We booked a Premium Room at the corner) Amenities in the bathroom are also lacking no Kleenex tissue for example. Before booking the Hotel we send an email to the Hotel to ask if they offer a Turndown service in the evening. It was confirmed that the service is offered. However on our 3 night stay we received turndown service 1 !!! time. But even that evening we were disappointed no floor mats placed next to the bed, no water for the night, no chocolate. The breakfast was also a major disappointment. The only interaction with staff is at the restaurant entrance. They take the room number that’s it. The staff wouldn’t show us to a table. The first morning we waited at a table for coffee when we were told that we have to get coffee and other drinks on our own from the buffet. Unforgivable in a Hotel advertising it’s 5 stars. Not a single morning of our stay we were offered eggs or pancakes cooked to order. First and last stay! Next door is a real 5 star Hotel offering all amenities this...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay at Eurostars Aliados in Porto. While advertised as a 5-star hotel, it feels more like a high-end 4-star, mainly because it lacks some of the extra touches of luxury and service you’d expect from a top-tier 5-star experience. That said, it still offers great value for money and an excellent stay. One of the hotel’s strongest points is its location—right in the heart of Porto, making it easy to explore the city on foot. Despite being so central, the room was quiet and well-insulated, allowing for a great night’s sleep.Check-in was smooth and efficient, with friendly and professional staff who made us feel welcome right away. Throughout our stay, the staff remained courteous and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience. Our room was spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, featuring a king-sized bed, elegant decor, and a huge shower that added a touch of indulgence. Everything was spotlessly clean, which is always a priority when choosing a hotel. The hotel has a spa with a gym, sauna, and hammam, free for guests. While we didn’t have time to use them, they looked modern, well-maintained, and inviting, adding to the hotel’s appeal.Overall, Eurostars Aliados delivers a stylish and comfortable stay at a reasonable price. While it may not quite reach the level of a true 5-star experience, it’s an excellent option for those looking for a high-quality hotel in the center of Porto. We would definitely...
