The Grill Place — Restaurant in Porto

The dish was satisfactory(some menu positions was missing), but we were disappointed with the service. We had made a reservation through Google Maps, but had difficulty to explain it to the waiter due to her limited English. Fortunately, there were many available tables. She didn't ask about our seating preference, directing us to the nearest to the bar table. The waiter confused our order; instead of three types of meat, I received a regular steak. When I asked for sauce, she brought me salt, which is not a big problem. The real problem was when I requested a Pepsi after finishing a peach juice. She handed me a Pepsi can without a new glass(after peach juice there is a sediment on the walls of the glass that should not be mixed with soda). Already frustrated, we left this place even without trying the desserts(for some reason they are not mentioned...

The food here is amazing. Our tour guide recommended this restaurant. We had the Porto’s specialty Francesinha and Tripas A Moda do Porto along with grilled sardines and sea bream. The Francesinha sauce and the tripes with beans were very tasty. The fishes were grilled to perfection, the vegetables, baked potatoes and fries were very delicious. For some reason, the potato here is sweet with no earthy taste.

The chocolate biscuit dessert was so good that I wanted to bring the whole cake back to the US. It is like Opera cake with multiple layers, coffee flavors and chocolate icing. So so yummy!

To top it all; João, our waiter, was very attentive, gave us many suggestions and provided excellent service!

Overall, we had an extremely satisfactory meal that doesn’t burned...

In a word best meal in Portugal. The menu was intriguing - a great selection to choose from. The service was perfect and we enjoyed the music played in the restaurant. Our server was attentive and quite pleasant. I had the grilled sea breeze with little roasted delicious potatoes and a vegetable mixture of I believe kale and cabbage or something like that. My fish was perfect 👌. Lemon slices on top of an entire whole fish. I have never eaten a fish served whole so this was a new experience. I finished everything on my plate and even had dessert.
