A terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean!

We chose this restaurant being in front of our accommodation in Ribeira Grande but above all for the strategic point where it is located, it seems to float on the water of the ocean ... as soon as we entered the room we were greeted by a very nice, smiling and professional waitress. The menu does not offer many dishes, but in my opinion it is a sign of quality. We tasted various dishes on the menu, including the catch of the day ... a snapper fillet on a cream of sweet potatoes and beetroot (which I think I've never eaten so good) and a delicious squid risotto (full of cuttlefish). We accompanied the dinner with an excellent local wine ... and to finish the dessert ... a creme brûlé with the gorreana and mint ... (what a taste) ah I forgot ... among the appetizers an octopus and shrimp salad with an amazing sauce. Total account 115,00€ in two.

I would spend them countless more times again!

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Mare Nostrum! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and incredibly thoughtful. The food was fantastic. In a week long trip to Sao Miguel, this was by far our best meal. The food was beautifully served and tasted even better. There was so much flavor to even the simplest dishes, and none of them disappointed. To make the experience even better, the atmosphere is really nice and every seat in the restaurant has a great view of the ocean. The service was amazing, leaving you with a good feeling after the meal. The pricing was also incredibly fair - it seems like they could charge twice as much due to the great view and atmosphere.
