Praia do Monte Verde — Attraction in Ribeira Grande

The beach is beautiful and the waves are amazing. Perfect place to learn how to surf or for the intermediate surfer.

Best beach experience on the island. Big waves, but no problems with currents, rocks or anything. Lots and lots of space both in the water and on the beach. Felt completely safe. The was lifeguards on duty (end of Juli). We were a family of 4 with kids age 12 and 17 and we are all used to water and some waves. The beach might not be for “beginners” and the weather will definitly affect the experience.
