Nice little museum in a former public market building. It deals with the Azorean diaspora both through time and then with sections on the communities of immigrants in different parts of the world. Included were discussions about the poverty and lack of opportunity in the past for some people, as well as things like avoiding military conscription during Portugal's colonial wars in the 60s and 70s. The photos and storyboards describe the emotions people experienced as they left the beautiful islands they called home. We parked on the street directly in front of the museum. We failed to notice the pay parking machine at the end of the block, and there were no signs. I think the museum should post a sign at the door “did you pay your parking?”.
