O Correia — Restaurant in Ribeira Grande

Restaurant with no charm but we thought we give it a try. Mussels not well cooked. Chicken and Rice for the kid came 20min after the adults already finished. Husband ordered fresh fish and fries, which was disgusting, bad and even smelly. He throwed up right in the bathroom. The waiter went in the kitchen to talk to the chef, but she only sended her colleague telling us the fish is fresh and had salt in it. She replied triple time and in the end we had to pay the whole dish. Unbelievable. Definitely the fish was already bad. You could tell from the smell! Waiter said the chef tried the fish, but we doubt that! I would not believe she ate fish that already another guest had in their mouth. Would even be more worse. 5 hart gekochte Muscheln 10,50€, Fish and labberige Pommes 15€! Sehr teuer...

Initially we wanted to go to another restaurant but had no reservations. I’m glad we had dinner at O Correia instead - the food was tasty and more than enough. I would definitely recommend the bitoque as it is especially delicious compared to some other restaurants but the fussili with shrimp was also good. The service was absolutely perfect. Ordered hamburger and fries. Hamburger was ok but could have been hotter the fries were ice cold and soggy. Service was very slow. Had to wait for ages for the waitress to show up to complain. Sent the fries back and it took a long time to get new ones by this time we were already done eating our burgers. Would not come back. Poor experience.over 10. Minutes later the fries had still...
