Boteco do Miguel — Restaurant in Ribeira Grande

This is hands-down my family’s favorite pizza place on the island. We’ve tried a lot of spots around São Miguel, but nothing beats the crispy, perfectly baked crust here — it’s got that amazing crunch without being too heavy. The ingredients are always super fresh and sliced nice and thin, so each bite feels balanced and full of flavor, not overloaded like you get at some other places.

What really makes it special, though, is Miguel. He’s bilingual, incredibly friendly, and you can tell he really loves what he does. Visiting the island and after a long day of exploring, stopped at the grocery store but were too tired to cook. We lucked out and chose to go to Boteco do Miguel. The owner was very friendly and spoke English very well. The pizza was very good, certainly the best we have had for years. This is the place where you want to eat pizza. Maybe you will wait a bit longer, but in a second you get the pizza on a table, you will notice that Miguel did it with love and he tried to make to the best pizza as is possible, the vegetables are perfectly spaced and it taste great.
