Restaurante Al Franco — Restaurant in São Vicente

The wait was very long. The prices are not great. The food leaves much be desired. I guess it's supposed to be somewhat an Italian restaurant, I went there because I didn't want to go to a touristy place in the centre of the town. But I was really disappointed. The prices were on par with touristy places but the pasta carbonara was horrible. For one they didn't have parmesan at the restaurant at the time. For an Italian restaurant that does pizza and pasta it's really weird. Carbonara seems like the cheapest spaghetti you could buy in a grocery store with cream and ham on top. For 9€. The pasta was just bland, the only sauce was on top. I don't like this argument, but in this case I think it fits: you can make the same meal at home for 3€ and it would turn out better, because you can actually finish the pasta in the sauce. Anyways, despite that terrible meal the other meal I ordered, Picadinho, was actually alright. At 14€ it's a decent amount of food. It's an okay deal, not great...

When the son asks for pizzas, how to refuse here 😉 Certainly very friendly service, the place is the most local, as for pizza, the normal size is about 20 to 25 cm, it is far from the Italian original but we finally eat such a dish locally 😉 The price should be adequate to the size and it is not (8 euro Margarita) but generally eatable. For lovers of Italian pizza, I do not recommend it, for interesting local places, when a child asks for a pizza, it can be :) curiosity Vegetarian pizza was sprinkled with carrots .. But since they eat fish with sweet banana here ... 😉 waiting time to improve, size to be improved, ingredients not from cans and it...

We ordered two pizzas, which we had to wait almost an hour for. (there were two guests at two tables) we predicted the card payment, however, the terminal did not work, despite trying 4 different card types. We didn't have cash, we had to go to the ATM in the village to pick up money (at 10 pm..)... Have cash with you and if you have a lot of time, just come here.
