This is one of the best places to eat on the whole island. Why is that. Here's our experience: First we were welcomed by the owner of the place (a nice lady, who runs this place together with her mother, who is the excellent cook of the meals). She introduced herself and walked us through the rather small (portuguese) menu. The reason for the small menu, she explained, is that everything is really fresh and local. Upon our question about the size of the dishes, she recommended that if we wanted to try a starter (soup in bread loaf) and a main course (fish), we should rather order just one of each and split. As it turned out, this was just the right recommendation. She (as well as her mom) just like us do not like to throw away food. The food itself was just great - really great. My family and I enjoyed a thoroughly pleasant lunch at this family run venue, that is perfectly placed on the coast; allowing close up views of the waves crashing on shore.

The service was friendly and helpful, with the staff member making recommendations and sharing some recipe tips to recreate some of these fine dishes back home.

I had the bacalhau verde, which is a cod and spinach based fish pie, topped with cheese. Both I and my family all agreed that it was excellent.

Other main course dishes we ordered included the lamb stew and chicken with homemade chips; all of which was delicious.

Lastly, the homemade peanut butter ice cream was exceptionally tasty and had a lovely texture too.
