This is the rudest service I've ever had at a restaurant in my whole life.
After booking through Google and receiving confirmation, we arrived at the place, only to be told that they hadn’t confirmed it themselves, and our table wasn’t available. They were already full at the time we had booked. However, they managed to find us a table for six where we could sit and we thanked them because we had driven specifically to come to their restaurant, mistakes can happen.
From that moment on, our table was completely forgotten. We had to kindly ask multiple times to place our order, and when I asked after we had been sitting there for half an hour, I was rudely told that we had just arrived and needed to wait our turn. They said they were taking orders table by table.
When tables that had just arrived started ordering, I asked one last time if we could order. A very annoyed waiter who was quickly leaving and avoiding our table, shrugging his arms, told me that no, I couldn’t order. An argument then started in the middle of the dining room because of my complaints: ‘We’ve been waiting here for 40 minutes, we’ve waited our turn as you asked, but now you’re letting others who arrived just 5 minutes ago order.’ I was told that I was lying and they preferred to deal with small tables first. How can you call a customer a liar when they’re simply asking to be able to eat after waiting for over an hour? I finally managed to convince him to let us order, but when the waiter communicated our order to the kitchen, he pointed at us to the staff and said who knows what in angry Portuguese, making us feel very uncomfortable.
After another 30 minutes, a very small portion of fried calamari arrived, the plate mostly filled with salad. After another 40 minutes, my dish finally arrived, baked octopus, which was very good.
The view of the ocean was amazing, and the food was good, but I'm sorry to say this is all wasted when your staff is incredibly rude to customers, no matter how busy it gets, no matter how tired you are, I was there to enjoy my dinner. A special thanks to the waiter who served us the wine, as he was the only one who treated us well. Just a sorry at the end of our dinner would have...
Read moreNestled along the coastline, this restaurant boasts a stunning view of the ocean, enhanced by a spacious terrace that is perfect for taking in the scenery. However, the picturesque setting is perhaps the best feature of this restaurant.
The fried calamari were an absolute delight, crispy and flavorful, making for an excellent starter. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Scabbard with banana, which fell well below expectations. The dish was unimpressive, and the maracuja sauce tasted old, detracting from the overall experience.
The side dishes, including baked potatoes and French fries, were disappointing. The fries were clearly frozen and overcooked, while the potatoes and salad lacked flavor.
On a positive note, the fish of the day was a highlight, perfectly cooked and paired wonderfully with the house white wine. This combination was a pleasant surprise amidst an otherwise lackluster menu.
Service was average.
Overall, I would not return to this restaurant nor recommend it, except perhaps for the fried calamari and a drink on the terrace to...
Read moreFirst I’ll list the pros. The waiters are very nice and kind and helpful. view from the terrace is quite beautiful. And that’s it.
I was served shrimp with a quarter of lemon (spoiled with mold). I was very shocked. First, how can you allow mold to appear on products in the kitchen in a restaurant? And secondly, probably the chef was careless or irresponsible so much that he put the mildew lemon in the plate. then I asked her to replace it, the lovely waitress helped me with it. but the taste of shrimp was disgusting and terrible: as if it had been defrosted many many times. it tasted like rubber. I couldn’t eat it in any way .You guys literally live in the ocean, why not use better products? I’ve been to a lot of restaurants in Madeira, but you have worst taste. The beef kebab was mediocre, too. and it’s weird that you don’t have any soft drinks other than water and coke, because I don’t drink alcohol, and you have no homemade lemonade, non-alcoholic cocktails, morses;( maybe we’re unlucky with the chef’s mood on this day or these particular dishes...
