Barriga de Freira — Restaurant in Setúbal

My family and I we were looking for a place to eat and found this restaurant called barriga de Freira in Setubal Portugal. It's a nice looking restaurant and amazing decoration. First impressions was good the waitress was friendly. We waited about 20m for the food. Three plates came and the fourth one was delayed another 20 minutes because there was an error in the kitchen but these things happen so i thought nothing of it. However, Food was soooo salty we couldn't enjoy it. Even the salad came with corse sea salt which I have never seen any restaurant do that, usually they put the salad on the table completely unseasoned and olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper apart. We informed to the waitress the situation no apologies nothing she just nodded and walked off, she could have at least pretended to care or called her manager. I do not recommend because of this...

Despite rstaurnt being full, the staff attention was instant. Our group was recognized, welcomed, and seated. Order taken in good time-frame. As we came for drink but decided to have a bite. Our food order also came within good timing and was so tasty we decided to order more. I questioned the waiter regarding our limited time- if it will be enough for order as we had to go, but he acted instatly - pushing the last added food orders forward, so we could leave on time. All food and drinks came on time, everything was very good. Service was professional, focused, and up to a good level. I am very satisfied and looking forward next time there to enjoy the place...

The best meat restaurant in town !!excellent quality of all the meat they have. The atmosphere to sit outside in the garden among the ancient ruins and the museum is just fantastic. Well cooked and best prices . If you need more cooking of your meat they will be happy to do. I was there for a week and I have visited this place 3 times!! Do not miss! PS.
