Carnes do Convento is ‘thee’ best Steakhouse restaurant in Setubal, and surrounding area for quality of steak, and the excellent choice of beef steak cuts & other meats is exceptional!, coupled with attentive service, good selection of wines, & great value for money. The starters offered are tasty,( recommend the Presunto porco duroc preserva, dry cured ham). The sobremesa, desserts are delicious and majority “ home made”. The pièce de résistance / Our personal favorite meal remains “Lombo do Brasil “Pedra”, cooked on “hotstone” , to our own liking, which ensures that friends can eat , at their own pace, whilst enjoying conversation between friends. I have happily patronized Carnes do Convento for over 5 years and will continue to do so, because of the “ assured” quality of food offered by the restaurant and friendly service of the staff……and great value for money…hence the reason for my 1st review of 2023…..as this restaurant remains, in my opinion, the best steakhouse experience...

The steaks come with some nice sides – black beans, rice, potato chips, and a Brazilian slaw. We also had a very good Soup of the Day (Pumpkin).
In addition, the décor and ambiance are delightful. Thank you for having dining friendly dim lighting vs. the usual bright spotlight lighting found in most restaurants here. Service was attentive, friendly and professional.
Kudos Carnes...

We were lucky to get a same-day reservation and were graciously seated at 10:00 PM—they honored it with a great attitude and made us feel genuinely welcome.
The service was top-notch. Our waiter, Samuel, was polite, attentive, and spoke excellent English—something that’s not very common in Setúbal. He made sure our table was always taken care of.
The food was outstanding. We tried tri-tip, entrecôte, sirloin, and several sides—everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The variety of meats (including venison, wild boar, kangaroo, pork, and chicken) was impressive and...
