Piccolino — Restaurant in Silves

Loved this restaurant. We had a table of 10, and it was extremely lucky that we had booked earlier on in the day as it got extremely busy. By about 9pm, there was a queue of roughly 10 others (3 to 4 different groups) all waiting to get a table, so it's clear it's a very popular restaurant. Pizzas are delicious and authentic with a beautiful crust. They give options of either 30cm or 50cm. Please be aware that 50cm is very, very large and defo enough for two people, especially if you have starters, too. For starters, I shared the caprese with my partner, which was stunning. We then shared a 50cm pizza (with half and half toppings), and then we also shared a pasta dish (beef tagliatelle). They had a few other options, too, if you aren't a fan of pizza or pasta. They also have puddings but I didn't have a pudding as I was so full, but they had about 5 options, including a coconut ice cream that someone from our table had and let me try, this was also delicious. The only negative comment I would have is that they kept playing the same songs on repeat. I think I heard Ed Shearan shape of you about 3 times in a row. Adele is rolling in the deep about 3 times in a row as well. And other songs which I didn't know. We had an amazing dinner at this lovely outdoor Italian restaurant with a group of eight, and everything from the atmosphere to the service was top-notch. The setting was beautiful — relaxed and welcoming, with a warm and cozy outdoor vibe that made us feel like we were dining in a little corner of Italy.

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our large group was well taken care of without ever making us feel rushed. From start to finish, the service was seamless — drinks were always full, and dishes came out hot and fresh.

The food was just as impressive. From the fresh pasta to the wood-fired pizzas and flavorful appetizers, everything was cooked to perfection and full of authentic Italian flavor. You could tell a lot of care went into both the ingredients and the preparation.

We ordered 2 different choices of pasta. We didn't expect much from the quality of the food but we at least expected the service and presentation to be in Italian style; which was not. The portions were way too small. Pasta with ragu alla bolognese is supposed to be served with parmigiano cheese; but it was not. The sauce of both pastas seemed to have been watered down. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the pasta with salmon and cream actually had fresh pasta. We don't know the quality of the pizzas, but we probably won't take our chances to try them.
