Bom Remédio Café — Restaurant in Sines

When we visited the restaurant, we had mixed impressions. The food itself wasn’t bad, but the overall experience left much to be desired.

Upon entering the restaurant, the tables were being rearranged, creating a chaotic atmosphere. Multiple servers came to our table one after another to ask if we had already ordered, clearly showing a lack of organization.

Additionally, the staff seemed unfriendly and unwelcoming. The peak of poor service occurred when, after waiting for about 40 minutes, our food was mistakenly brought to the neighboring table. The neighbors had already started eating the fries before the mistake was noticed. Instead of preparing new dishes, the waiter brought the same plates to our table after a brief stay in the kitchen. When we confronted the waiter about this, he dismissed our criticism and claimed the food was newly prepared, even though we had clearly seen that they were the same plates. As we were hungry and had been on the go all day, we eventually ate the dishes despite them obviously not being fresh.

Another point of criticism was the broken dishware. One of our plates had a large crack, which is completely unacceptable. Additionally, the floor was dirty. After another table left, dirt, including a large piece of toast, remained on the floor for over half an hour until we left.

Furthermore, the menu was misleading. The so-called vegan dishes included ingredients like honey, Greek yogurt, and Nutella, casting doubt on the credibility of the entire menu and causing confusion for vegan customers.

Overall, our visit was disappointing and we would not recommend...

Bom Remédio came highly recommended, we sought it out during our visit, but we left disappointed with the service we received. After waiting briefly for an open table the server took us to a patio table which 1. Had not been cleaned, 2. Had significant food scraps under the table and 3. The server “wiped” using her arm. It took 15 minutes and 3 inquiries with different staff to receive service. Servers had served other patrons who had arrived in the meantime. The food was decent - would recommend the burgers! The sauce mix with the fries is quite yummy! Following up with servers after the meal was equally arduous, and took multiple server follow-ups to to receive the bill, including waiting for the server to finish a long conversation with a passing friend in the street.

Overall, food delivered as reviewed by others. The service was lacking...

The food is good overall.

I asked for a specific drink and I thought I was served that but apparently I wasn’t. No one told me what I wanted from their menu, wasn’t available and served something similar. Didn’t like what they did in this situation. I only know that this happened because I saw my bill and inquired about the price of the drink. What I wanted was significantly pricier than what I got, not that this is the point. I should’ve been told that the drink o wanted wasn’t available and been presented by the other option and asked if I wanted it.

The rest of the service was very slow. We waited half an hour to make our order (because they didn’t know we hadn’t yet even though they seated us) and almost another 40 min for the food to come...
