We are a humble and easy going couple from Canada and had the worst experiences in the world. We were eating at Gelateria e Pastelaria Ramos, next door to typical Indian tandoori . There was a violent situation between a guest at gelateria , the owner of that restaurant and sony the owner of the Indian restaurant around the dividing property line between both properties at the outside dining area. My wife and I were hoping for a peaceful and enjoyable breakfast but experienced a violent, disrespectful and unprofessional experience from both owners of restaurants. Our table was on the middle of both properties and sony and the guest and the lady owner got into a vulgar exchange of words and my wife and I felt in danger. The worst part is neither apologized to us but the lady owner did apologize to the guests behind us which I suspect was because they were caucasian and we were Asian. In addition , the staff at the indian restaurant felt it was more important to move their tables to touch ours with no respect or decency . I would definitely not eat at the indian restaurant mainly due to the poor behaviour from the owner. Both owners should have dealt with the situation privately and as a result , I took the time to write this honest feedback and welcome either owner for an apology to...
Read moreWe were the first and only people at this restaurant for about an hour and you would think our service would be very attentive. It was not, after our initial seating outside it took time before any one came and took a drink order. We placed our food order and the waiter didn’t seem like he recognized what we were ordering, it was right off the menu a Chicken Kabob and Lamb Tikka Masala!! Then he left and didn’t come back even though we finished our drinks and wanted refills…hello don’t you want to make money on drinks?? When the food came it was like both were Tikka, no Masala sauce, and the chicken was not chunks but a mince of chicken something, no kebab skewers and very very dry, inedible really but they never offered to take it off the bill so we paid for food we couldn’t eat. They never even cared enough to ask why we didn’t eat it and what could they do. They did bring a bowl of Masala sauce but in the end the chunks of lamb were dry and chewy. Our biggest problem really…was they acted like they didn’t care about us, maybe just our money. Would never return, plenty of other good restaurants...
Read moreSadly an awful meal experience. 4 adults and 2 children, we ordered a range of dishes. The fish korma had very little fish in it, the Indian chicken platter had 2 prawns replacing some chicken, and the vegetarian dishes were basically frozen mixed veg which had been heated with curry sauce! We did complain about the lack of flavour and the Indian chap brought some chili sauce. He claimed it was not oil, but it was clearly chili oil.
In reading other reviews, either the chef was off duty and no one else knows how to cook, or we are in an alternative universe. It was honestly the worst meal I have had in a long time and when we shared our dissatisfaction, they did not care. My husband was too quick to pay to leave, but really we should have made a bigger issue on this. Please don’t go until they do better. Just a place taking advantage...
