One of the coziest and greatest restaurant experiences I have had in Portugal so far. And for the prices they have I have to give it five stars. I recently went twice with my partner and her parents who are Portuguese natives and they know a good restaurant when they experience one so we returned the day after our first visit. I tried their fish soup, their vegetable soup, Lulinhas (that's smaller squid things for all English speakers out there) with fries as well as the tried and true test of any restaurant: Steak with cream sauce and fries. Nailed it each and every time! Good flavor profile, good resources, good presentation, everything is cooked right and to order (The medium rare steak was medium... orders to replace fries with rice was no issue et. c.) The price of the soups? Ballpark between 4-7 euro for a small-ish but sufficient bowl for a starter...like come on, what are you doing if you're grabbing a ready meal from intermarche instead of this? STOP... Take a seat, soak in the ambiance.. order a soup and some bread and ENJOY LIFE instead. Cost for main dishes are also cheap and good and they strike a good balance between being able to provide variety without becoming "masters of none". It's clearly focusing on traditional Portuguese restaurant food with strong Algarve influences... plenty of fish and seafood going on. I digress...Bread was fresh, the details like the "red pesto butter" served on a neat little rock thing.. They're good at picking wine. Olives were fresh and seasoned nicely. Music and ambiance is nice. And the place just looks nice! It has a nice attention to detail. The people serving you as well as the owner give off excellent vibes in my humble opinion, sociable if you strike up conversation or ask questions, professional whenever you'd expect them to be. Responsive should you signal to pay your tab (I did twice). Desserts were also on par with the rest of the courses... lots of almond/carob goodness... didn't have the time to try the ice-cream but I bet it's fantastic! It's no Michelin three-star... then again most people probably wouldn't opt for a restaurant like that to begin with...I prefer places like this!... It's just a place that serves good food in great ambiance, they nail wine and drinks... they even have good non-alcoholic alternatives like Why Not Soda which is appreciated. Prices are also great... It's five stars from me! Snag a seat during less busy hours for the optimal experience in my opinion... but if you're not as picky as me I'd say just go for it... this place is definitely worth it! Next time I'm around these parts I'll return. That's a guarantee.

Beautiful place, reasonably priced, nice people, but we were very unlucky with the food. My partner can't eat onion and parsley and we were clearly about that when we ordered the famous octopus rice. first one came with loads of parsley on the top, the waiter apologised and took the pot away, 10min later the other waiter was trying to give us the same pot, just with some parsley removed. we didn't accepted that. the third pot came just 15min before the closing time, we weren't offered any snack or anything in the meantime and we were already waiting over an hour so we were very hungry and upset. finally the octopus rice without parsley arrived! but the octopus was very chewy and hard to bite. when we left, my partner got sick and we barely made it to the hotel. we weren't sure whether they gave us the same octopus which was already in the first pot as we haven't tried this dish before until couple days later in a different city (I highly recommend Tasca da Avenida in Setubal!).

We came to the restaurant around 7:30 pm, it took around 10 minutes until the waitress came with menu, another 10 minutes until she came to ask if we are ready to order. To be fair it is necessary to mention that restaurant was full as in the inside and in the outside also. We have been waiting for soup for another 25 minutes, and for main course for around 45minutes, after the soup. The worst part was, that one of the meals was pretty bad, the Bitoque was ordered as medium, but most of its parts were well done or raw, so only around a third of the meat was eaten. Other meals as pasta were not great not terrible, better said nothing special. The squid was also done in basic way, no special flavours or experience from food.

We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The wait for food was over 2 hours, which was unreasonable. The quality of the food was far from satisfactory, and it seemed like a joke. It felt as though they treated locals better. Customer support hasn't passed by this restaurant. I'm puzzled by the numerous positive reviews. The meal reminded me of a poor-quality supermarket dish – unappetizing, cold, NOT fresh, not cleaned and bitter squid. It was quite disappointing overall. Probably fresh frozen seafood. Give yourself a favour and don't enter this place. If you look at the negative review it all makes sense.🤮

This was a small family business which an older gentleman was taking orders, serving and cleaning up all on his own. He was super kind and generous and was a working machine! When we arrived he had (4) tables he was managing but still took his time to get us seated and started. The food was really good and authentic (as far as I could tell). Most of the people at the restaurant were Portuguese so always a good sign. We had an appetizer, soup and shared entree which all were great and felt so authentic!

We had such a lovely time at this restaurant. It’s a close drive to a few beaches and the food was spectacular. We had fresh fish and great wine. The owner was so kind and during our lunch, he walked over and told my family that he loved that we weren’t on our phones and enjoying his food and our company. He even gifted us a bottle of rose as we were heading out! This is by far my favorite meal in Algave. Thank you so much for the best time and we hope to be back again soon!!!
