We were in the Algarve for 9 days…that is a lot of meals! We have chosen only 5 restaurants to review, all of them outstanding for different reasons. The Hangout, tied for #1, was pleasantly casual (next to a surfer shop) and you could easily miss it driving by. But if you are in Sagres, make a point of going there! Exceptional quality of food and presentation. Wait staff and the chef were fun and friendly (and they spoke excellent English). We ordered the tomato and goat cheese crouton salad (yum!), and the daily special of sliced angus beef, and Philly cheese on a crisp baguette (perfect!) to share between 2 and it was plenty. Then our waiter told us about the homemade pana cotta and we could not resist adding a slice of brownie to that and espresso to top off this excellent meal. For me: Better places to hang out in Sagres or just communicate friendly...

Describe the casual description of the place, be forewarned that, at least during peak season, you need to make reservations as it's a small space that probably can't seat more than 20-30 people. We ended up finally getting a reservation on our final night in Sagres, and it was a great high to end our visit on! The pasta dishes are quite large - they the pasta feeds 2 hungry dudes but I would say 3 normal adults, especially if you add on a salad or starter. Even our 7 year old loved the pasta. We also tried one of the sandwiches under the "bites" that had a local pork that was incredibly delicious (albeit a bit decadent). The chocolate fondant is not to miss - I'm a bit chocolate fan and I have to tell you this is an extremely well balanced and...
