Caffe Espresso Sagres — Restaurant in Vila do Bispo

Sagres is a small surfing village. Compared to other places in the area, there is a lot of space here and not very built on top of each other. The coffee and lunch shop is very close to the beach and with a very large parking lot nearby. It is part of a hotel/apartment complex.

It is a place where you can drink coffee and where they have many choices of sweets. You can also have breakfast and lunch there. We are quite coffee lovers and were hoping for some higher quality coffee here but unfortunately it was average (must say we do have high standards regarding coffee).

The staff is somewhat difficult to judge in this situation. You have to order at the counter and thus are in very little contact with the staff. So you have to take your own order to your table.

The interior is nicely done. Is are common tables but also a few sitting areas with sofas. It's not quite my style but they did their best to make it cozy.

When we were drinking coffee here, I don't remember music playing. But it was not disturbing that there was no music.

We visited this establishment based on Google reviews. We ordered a flat white, a cappuccino, and a pastel de nata.

The pastel de nata was likely from the previous day. It had a rather tough texture.

As for the coffee, for coffee lovers, it was a truly horrific experience. The coffee was steaming as if it were freshly poured tea. It was burnt and tasted genuinely awful. This is surprising, as they clearly have a good coffee machine and quality beans.

Very good sandwiches, focaccia, squeezed juices. Coffee as in Portugal, quite strongly roasted. It is not my favorite style of coffee. I prefer medium roast where you can feel more flavor notes.
